⚠️ DO NOT USE @courtsideapp After refusing to payout a $31,500 wager their current stance is they have the right to void any bet even after settlement. They are now threatening legal action for my posts made on social media about them not paying out. Their only offer to me was to void all of my bets instead of just paying the winner. @AlexCaruso, who continues to promote courtside, remains silent on the matter.

@jbondwagon The alignment is in the IP. If you're looking for financial alignment via equity etc then there are other projects that are experimenting there that may be a better fit for you. That's the beauty of having so many projects to join that are each playing to their strengths

The main problem I see with Azuki rn is the lack of alignment between the brand & the holders To Azuki brand, being web3 is creating NFT & using the IP from this in TCG & manga To Azuki holders, being web3 is creating value for holding Azuki, & value is often seen as monetary At the moment, Azuki pushes holders’ IPs to new audiences via TCG. They feel like holders should be happy about this However, as Azuki makes push and sales of TCG using holders’ IPs, no money flow back to holders for the use of their IP Long-term, this approach may work IF Azuki becomes a global success, IPs in NFTs become more sought after But now, it’s a huge ask for holders to be ok with this set up while there’s no assurance that Azuki will be a successful IP This is the most visible disconnect. Obviously, it’s deeper than that but this paints a picture of the problem already

Some ppl think that Azuki isn't doing enough "web3" I think there’s a common misconception on what we're actually building. Azuki was built on the idea that the collectible characters belong to the holders. The NFTs are the 1st edition collectibles of this universe, the original characters of the Azuki IP. We care deeply about the art. It's why Azuki has consistently had sales well above floor for rare traits and aesthetics. Collectors are paying for what makes a specific character special. Today we're building the TCG to take those characters mainstream, followed by the official manga to turn the characters you own into a story millions will fall in love with. These characters started as PFPs. Today they’re used in trading cards played in tournaments. Soon they'll be in manga panels that people read on the train. They'll be loved by fans who've never owned an NFT. That IS web3. We're just doing it our way. The expectation is often that web3 means tokens are at the center of every product, fully onchain mechanics, experimentation at every layer, etc. That's a good fit for some projects. It's not what Azuki is. When we decided to build a TCG, there were holders adamant it should be digital and run on tokens. Despite gaming tokens mooning at the time, we chose otherwise. We knew that the facts were that 1. TCG players hate crypto. and 2. we have a goated team that has the ability to make a physical game that can compete with the best card games on the market. The right move was to build something players actually want and let the IP carry it. I'm glad that we stayed disciplined and made that call. That decision was specific to us given our team, our strengths, our constraints. Every team should lean into theirs. There is no single right way to do this. Going back to constraints for a sec bc it often gets overlooked... If your target audience hates crypto, why tf would you shove it in their face? Really think about that for a sec I've been very clear about what Azuki is and isn't. Read my pinned article. The NFTs are collectible characters and the original IP of the Azuki universe. The team is building a TCG and a manga from that IP. We work closely with the holders who've internalized this path, and that has been one of the most rewarding stretches of the journey. This path allows us to grow and proliferate the characters owned by holders with products that appeal to a mainstream audience. Some will disagree. I respect it. It doesn't change my mind. Azuki isn't built for everyone. It's built for the people who get it. If that's you, come join us. Azuki

An NFT whale paid $340,000 for a fake Banksy and the hacker felt so guilty he sent almost all of it back In August 2021 someone hacked Banksy's official website and added a page promoting his "first NFT" on OpenSea, a piece called Great Redistribution of the Climate Change Disaster Pranksy saw the link, thought it was real because it was hosted on Banksy's own site, and dropped 100 ETH on the auction, worth around $340,000 at the time Minutes later the link vanished and Banksy's team confirmed it was fake and Pranksy just bought a JPEG made by some random guy on the internet Then Pranksy tracked the hacker down on Twitter and followed him from his main account and some hours later 97.69 ETH landed back in his wallet The hacker told BBC he gave it back because he was scared of the public attention he faced

5 more months until the @Azuki TCG becomes a top 5 trading card game in the world alongside: > Magic: The Gathering > Pokémon > One Piece > Yu-Gi-Oh > Riftbound (League of Legends) > Lorcana (Disney) > Star Wars: Unlimited Top 5 means it has to do somewhere between $500-800M annual revenue and has to displace at least 3 of the 7 mentioned above.

Say I have a bunch of my childhood Pokemon cards, couple hundred CGC graded holos + first editions scored 7-8 on average and ~300 commons that would probably grade out around the same but didn't seem worth paying for. Is there are market for 7s and 8s and if so, how does one get rid of these without getting ripped off?

That was a huge mistake I made. No reason for me to clean it up or justify it. I learned my lesson and will not do anything similar to that again.

This was probably the worst way to lose $150,000 ever In July 2022, an NFT whale called Franklin, the seventh largest Bored Ape holder at the time, registered an Ethereum Name Service domain called "stop-doing-fake-bids-its-honestly-lame-my-guy.eth" It was meant to be a meta joke about people creating useless ENS names just to bait a Twitter bot into tweeting fake high bids on them To pull the joke off, he placed a 100 ETH bid on his own domain from a second wallet, which was worth around $150,000 at the time and the bot ended up tweeting it Then a guy called 8892 placed a real bid of 1.89 ETH (~$2,800) on the domain Franklin accepted, went to Twitter to post "the most surprising 1.891 ETH I have ever made" and then completely forgot one detail His own 100 ETH bid was still active Fifteen minutes later, 8892 accepted that 100 ETH offer, instantly selling the domain back to Franklin for $150,000 and walking away with a clean 97.5 ETH profit Franklin tried sending the 1.89 ETH back as a goodwill gesture hoping the buyer would reverse it 8892 just tweeted "I ripped this guy off for 100 ETH and he just sent me another 1.9?" Franklin posted "Oh no, I lost 100 ETH. This will be the joke and bag fumble of the century. I deserve all of the jokes and criticism." A guy who owned 57 Bored Apes worth millions got rinsed because he couldn't remember to cancel his own joke
