Any BKK based Americans applied for a new passport in the last 6-7 weeks? How long from mail in to return? My newish 1.5 yr old one is already full, that one only took 3 weeks back then . Emb site saying up to 6 weeks now.

@Ajarncom I have made frequent trips and have always done my 90-day reports online within 90 days of re-entry. Never had any issues.🤞🤞

90-day reporting I put all my documents together last night to go and do my 90-day reporting at Samut Prakan immigration tomorrow morning. This would be my first 90-day reporting since returning from a trip abroad in November, and as we all know, the first 90-day reporting after re-entering Thailand has to be done face-to-face at immigration (or by mail). I decided to give the online system a shot this morning, 99.9% sure it would be rejected, but thought to hell with it. nothing ventured, nothing gained. Lo and behold, my application has just been approved. No need to go to immigration tomorrow. I'm still in a state of shock.

@bbarling @janniiiiw I have a mutual fund account with Krungsri, but there's apparently some rule that US citizens can't invest in the US market through a Thai account. Not sure if the same rule applies to other banks. My wife (Thai) invests in an S&P 500 fund through her SCB account.

So I get that Thai people say “Tai-land.” They also say “ting” instead of “thing.” Why? Because there is no th-sound in Thai. But if we’re expected to say names as people say them in their native languages, then we’re mispronouncing the names of many, if not most, countries

@RichardBarrow I drove to Nakhon Phanom last weekend with my wife. Passed through a checkpoint in Mukdahan with no issues, but got kicked out of Nakhon Phanom on Monday and sent vack to Bangkok for being American...

A Thai friend of mine drove from Bangkok to Nakhon Phanom yesterday. He said he didn’t see any road blocks until he reached his destination. Even though there’s more freedom of movement now, you should research first. In Nakhon Phanom, its a ฿20,000 fine if you don’t wear a mask.

Prior to this article, folks on non-O unable to get flights out to their countries or return due to temp bans by countries' including to their own citizens were being advised to apply for an extension at an Immigration Office.
