WOW! Trump's right-hand man for over a decade, Michael Cohen -- someone who knows Trump better than anyone else -- gives America a stark warning. "I know the man. And I’m telling you, if he god-forbid a million times, wins the election, right now in 2024, there will never be another election ever again… Trumpism is fascism, and we must eradicate it from our body politic. Otherwise we are going to lose our democratic republic."

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper says the true cost of the Rwanda scheme so far has been £700m. She says the Tories had planned to spend £10 billion in total on the scheme, a number that had not been relayed to Parliament.

Incredible deal @halfords_UK right now. Pay £11.45 instead of £5.99. That's a saving of minus 91% 🤔

Just waiting on those two final declarations. Might have taken 16 hours to pray for every single one of the constituencies and their new MP but I've absolutely loved every minute. Even, maybe especially, for those where it hasn't been as easy as others.

Quite pleased with the little webapp ChatGPT and I put together to support our prayerful watch party focused on lifting people and places to God and none of the rest of it (each hex gets a heart once it's prayed for). Great thanks to the @democlub sat CSV underneath it all.

As you'd expect, this prompted a response from @SamsungUK social team. What you might not have expected is they can't communicate with the Presidential Escalations team so the solution to being ignored by the PE team is... ...contact the PE team. Super. Smashing. Great. 🤡

At the point where I'd have to discourage people from ever buying @Samsung @SamsungUK appliances. Great but buggy products I can forgive but the ghosting by their 'Presidential Escalations' team not so much. No update since 16th April and now just ignoring follow up enquiries.

@bbcPoV @BBCTwo Episode 6 appeared to be a repeat of episode 5. I gave up after 15 minutes. Other than that, a fascinating series.

@GreenpeaceUK Episode 6 last night was a repeat of episode 5, at least for the first 15 minutes. After that I gave up. Was this a mistake? Otherwise, it was riveting.

"Tonight Russian forces have seized control of a Greenpeace ship" This was the evening news in 2013 and the moment Greenpeace’s peaceful protest was intercepted by Russian security services. Watch the new BBC2 series On Thin Ice: Putin v Greenpeace now! bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod…

Estimations of arrests for expulsion to Rwanda: 18% Afghan, 21% Syrian, 15% Sudanese, 14% Eritrean, 14% Iranian. All refugees, all legally entitled to status here. They’ve careful constructed the narrative of ‘illegal’ - they’re the illegal government. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

Every few years, I search for this 2019 clip of Blair again. The bluntness of his ‚power is power!‘ doesn‘t only apply to geopolitics, but equally to energy policy & the delayed energy transition. Raw power. No longer a lack of technologies or knowledge.

So, @Nigel_Farage - one of the founders & owners of @reformparty_uk - can present an “impartial” programme on a TV “news” channel during the general election according to the broadcasting regulator @ofcom. The leader of the party @TiceRichard & its only MP @LeeAndersonMP_ can present programmes in the run up to the campaign alongside @Jacob_Rees_Mogg. Is that your idea of impartiality ?
Ofcom@Ofcom

🚨 Ahead of the next General Election, we're sending a clear warning to broadcasters to maintain the highest standard of impartiality. We've also issued strengthened industry guidance on rules around politicians as presenters. 🔗 Read more: ofcom.org.uk/news-centre/20…

I'm desperate for UK political parties to commit to speaking truthfully and not with chicanery like this. I don't see any route to restoring public trust in democracy without partisan reverence for integrity. Sell your policy on its merits, not by creating a distortion field.
Ben Zaranko@BenZaranko

To get the £75 billion number, the government has assumed a baseline with spending frozen in cash terms and then added up all of the differences. If you instead assume a baseline of spending frozen as a % GDP, it's an extra £20 billion over 6 years. Details here.

Literally nobody has shown up to my book event. Was worried that my ego and career aspirations were getting out of control, so this is a useful corrective.

@jpw55 Most get-togethers are social occasions, a chance to chat & catch-up with friends. It feels unfair to exclude people cos they can't afford to subsidise other's food & drink.

Whenever I was out with a group of "friends" I would always notice those that just had a soft drink and cheap main meal. And if someone suggested splitting the bill, I'd point out this was unfair on XXX who didn't have several courses or any alcohol.
