Activists attempt to save Beagles. Animal rights activists broke into Ridglan Farms, a Beagle breeding facility near Madison, WI, on March 15, 2026. About 50-60 entered by cutting fences and forcing entry, removed 23 beagles (bred for biomedical research), and took them to safety. 27 activists were arrested for trespassing/burglary; most released pending charges. The farm plans to press charges and says the action was criminal.

You guys ever notice how the medical community classifies anyone outside of their community that ever discovered something good for human health as "they accidentally discovered" something... As if the only people who can purposely discover something is one of their own?

Goals

Just general polarization between where we exist on the spectrum of our perception of reality. I have spent lots of time with them, lived in California, smoked weed in the back of vans with them,had close vegan friends, de-veganed two ex-girlfriends, etc. But that has been years ago now... It isn't the singular issue with eating animals or not, it is with a lot of the adjacent beliefs and tendencies that surround it. It frankly depends on the issue, but I think as a general rule - I find myself in contrast with most vegans most of the time with most issues... but not all the time.

@loftwah @barrymerritt You try a total power down and unplug? My ASUS has a couple of hardware controllers that only reset with the shutdown/unplug then magically start working.

@barrymerritt Bad. I've checked everything too. It should be working, but nope. A separate audio device works.

Windows updated and now none of my audio works. Outstanding.

I had a Navy Psychologist explain it to me this way. When a person enlists in the Air Force/Navy for six years and gets out, it takes him 5-7 days to adjust. When you enlist in the Army for 6 years, it takes you 6 years to adjust. But when you enlist in the Marine Corps And graduate Boot Camp, you never adjust, you are a Marine forever. I rented a room from a lady who casually dropped that bomb on me when I asked her what she did for work one day. It was down in San Diego, not sure which research lab.

Ever since the first SimCity (the C64 version was the first one I played, then Amiga, then MSDOS), I’ve spent thousands of hours playing games in this series (I can’t count them all, but it’s definitely somewhere around that). And I’m really glad that SimCity 4 (with mods) is still an excellent city builder game. And while I may have a soft spot for SC, SC2000 and SC3000, I still consider SC4 to be the best installment. Anyway - good night, y'all!
