I’ve noticed a growing trend of Green voters calling detention centres concentration camps.
It’s a loaded term, designed to provoke outrage, not debate.
These centres are short term holding facilities for processing and deportation.
People can’t leave, yes, that’s the point of immigration enforcement.
The real issue? Many Greens who are opposing them, it's simply because they now face the reality of these centres being placed in their own communities.

I think this will go down as the turning point in our national political landscape.

Resorting to blackmail (ironic) is a damning indictment of Reform and how it works. Corruption and inequality rather than ya know… actually being a good political party. When will Reform voters see what Farage really is… a dodgy Trump supporter with no morals.

Today we announce a new policy: In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time. Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported. So here’s our promise: A Reform government will not put any migrant detention facilities in any constituency with a Reform MP. Nor will we put them where Reform controls the council. And of the remaining areas, we will prioritise Green controlled parliamentary constituencies and Green controlled councils to locate the detention centres. Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won’t have a detention centre near you. If you vote Green, there’s a good chance you will. This is an important exercise in democratic consent, not just for our mass deportation policy, but for where the detention centres are placed. Given Zack Polanski openly advocates for open borders, we look forward to their warm embrace of this policy.

Benefit cheat Bethany Elwood, 31, pocketed £78,057 in Universal Credit by lying she was single for over four years. The mum-of-two from Parson Cross, Sheffield, kept claiming as a lone parent even after her full-time employed boyfriend moved in with her in the mid-2020s. She failed to update the DWP and continued raking in the cash until a member of the public tipped off the fraud hotline in 2024. When interviewed she initially denied it but then made a full admission. At Sheffield Magistrates’ Court she was given a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to repay the full £78k at just £20 a month. The judge called it a “long term, wilful fraud for a great deal of money” that defrauds every taxpayer. £20 a month......
