This is it: 'Heretical Heroes and Savage Saviours', the final version of my #PhD thesis! Almost 600 pages and over 150 illustrations telling a story about how the Dutch and Poles imagined each other in the 17th c. The book will be available in #OA after my defence on 24 October!

I hopped away from my @imera_amu desk + joined the super smart MA + PhD students from the LMU/Regensburg intensive Trieste "summer school," led by my much beloved friend Mate Rigo and NYU's Jared Warren. They asked TOUGH questions... I love that.

My article, “Ottoman Plants, Nature Studies, and the Attentiveness of Translational Labor” is forthcoming in History of Science! This will be the first publication from my current book project on the making of “slow science” between the Ottoman Empire and Early Modern Europe!

@zarqawiyyah I'm a Slavist so outside the field, but the most sensible option seems (for citations) to include original title and a translation; those who read the language get what they need, those who don't can get they meaning they need. Transliteration helps a fairly small set of readers.
