@sarahbellumPA I has never thought of it but I wish that our applicants had a chance to meet the APPs in our program. They are a huge and wonderful part of my experience of residency.

Due to #COVID hospital crowding, this week I talked 5 people through new diagnoses of brain tumors in exposed, noisy ER hallway beds. I repeat every third sentence because it's hard to hear through my Darth Vader-esque mask. This is a dystopian mess. #WearAMask #neurosurgery

Observational, database driven studies like this are useful to start conversations among stakeholders about the findings, but as you say, they are limited in providing “proof.”

Putting patients with new brain masses in emergency room hallway beds rather than a private room does not set me up to deliver the horrible news that they might have brain cancer in a comforting way. Can we fix this? #neurosurgery
