@VinceTaormina @briantylercohen LOL “play by the rules” … Dems only know how to cheat
English

@briantylercohen Democrats like to play by the rules, even if the game is being rewritten right under their noses. That’s up-and-down the problem with current leadership: they’re too process oriented and think too much like lawyers
English

Why haven't we heard from a SINGLE Democratic state about steps they're taking to counteract the post-VRA GOP power grabs in Louisiana and Alabama and South Carolina and Tennessee and Texas and North Carolina and Missouri and Florida? Is every Democrat asleep at the wheel? Do you think this is going to fix itself? Why is it so fucking difficult for Democrats to fight back? If you're in power in NJ, NY, MD, CO, IL, WA, OR, wake the fuck up and announce steps to redraw the maps so that Democrats are not drawn out of power forever.

@FaceTheNation Ted Lieu you are a disgrace of a lawyer. So stupid. Georgetown should void your degree.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) says the Virginia Supreme Court’s decision to nullify a congressional redistricting map decided on by voters “was not only wrong, it was disgraceful,” and says he doesn’t think that Republicans will pick up nine seats in the midterms amid redistricting battles in other states.
“The court could have stopped this by not having the election in the first place,” he says. “They suckered the people of Virginia. It was a complete disgrace.”
English

@AdamParkhomenko Dumbest argument. VA law required for the Referendum to be complete before VA Supreme Court was allowed to decide if it was valid. That is exactly what happened.
English

@beachmamax2 @micah_erfan UVA Law School should immediately expel this idiot. Unfit to be a member of any Bar, anywhere.
English

@micah_erfan Once upon a time, UVA Law only accepted the best and brightest. It’s unfortunate that reading comprehension is no longer a requirement.

English

The Virginia Supreme Court could have ruled the referendum was procedurally defective before millions voted.
The Republican appointed majority explicitly refrained from doing so.
Now they have come back after the fact and struck down the will of the people.
Shameful.

🚨BREAKING: In a 4-3 ruling, the Virginia Supreme Court has OVERTURNED the redistricting referendum approved by voters last month that could have netted Democrats 5 additional House seats. The court ruled the General Assembly violated the Virginia Constitution in advancing the amendment, nullifying the referendum entirely.
English

@micah_erfan UVA Law should expel you for this idiotic take. You obviously are incapable understanding the law or you are ethically bankrupt and refuse to follow the law to push your political agenda. Either way, you are not fit to be a mrmber of any Bar.
English

@micah_erfan You are a liar. The Dems argued the exact opposite in court, that VA law prohibited VA Supreme Court from ruling on the Referendum until after the voting was concluded. And the Dems were right, VA Supreme Court was required to wait.
English

@arabornot I’ve watched that scene 5 times. Get a little teary every time.
English

@BachmannRudi @pir3111 The term “Gerrymander” was named after a Democrat politician in Massachusetts. Dems literally invented the practice.
English

@pir3111 And red did it prior to that, etc. This is not how we get out of this mess. There needs to be a national election compact between both parties.
English

Today’s redistricting referendum is about one thing: President Trump’s power grab.
Last summer, he said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress, and states across the country got to work to give him what he demanded.
You can push back, Virginia. Vote YES.
