Talking to a 45yo bank CEO of a $750M bank the other day at a conference. He knows I’m all in on AI and workflows and says “I just don’t know why you need all of that developed to help you, I have people that can do all of that.”
I can’t imagine how awful it is to work there. Every task manual or just doesn’t do it at all.

@commbankerguy Who is training new bankers? Not just sales people, but bankers. Started many years ago when most banks phased out training programs and small banks generally stopped hiring fresh graduates.

The banking biz really has a void of talent. From the GFC to Covid, seems like an entire generation doesn’t exist in banking on the whole. Young talent is very tough to find which is why I think AI will boom in banking.

We need new banks for the same reason all industries need innovation. There are gaps in product offering or geography that need to be filled. There is an excess of commoditized regional/big banking across the country that should be consolidated, but De Novos are still vital to the system IMO

It’s not. It’s trying to get a better shot lol it’s not his fault they foul him. There is A LOT of tape on everything he likes to do and defenses fall for it still. That’s on them. He’s doing what he’s supposed to. Now if you don’t like it that’s fine and I get it
