If Jim Dolan announced the team was going to The White House without discussing it with the team, that is despicable.
Michael Calderone@mlcalderone

Jim Dolan announced last week that the team accepted Trump's invite for the Knicks to go to the White House. @TomKludt had asked Jalen Brunson about the prospect of a WH visit hours before, and here's what he said: “We haven’t discussed it,” Brunson said. “But as a team, we’ll discuss it and we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.” nymag.com/intelligencer/…

@pick_six22 I think losing your life might be a tad too much accountability. Black community, take the L. This was open and shut case.

The only person in this case who you aren’t holding accountable is Austin Metcalf. We can all agree that Karmelo Anthony should be held accountable to some extent.

@pick_six22 Right. He put his hands on Karmelo to move him out of the tent. Why didn’t his parents teach him to keep his hands to himself???

The same people who supported Kyle Rittenhouse, Daniel Penny, & George Zimmerman; say it was self defense; but when it comes to #KarmeloAnthony it's m*rder. And w/ a straight face claim Black people "make everything about race". The irony.

5 ways Austin Metcalf could have avoided this tragedy: 1. Never stalk anyone 2. Don’t take matters into your own hands 3. Tell someone with authority if there is a problem 4. Keep your hands to yourself 5. Change in character

@Langerhans_isle @pick_six22 1. Don't bring a prohibited weapon to a track meet. 2. Don't trespass. 3. Walk away. 4. Don't provoke. 5. Don't use lethal force against non-lethal force. There were numerous different off-ramps short of murder that "Mello" refused to take.

@lizaboth Because military people made a sacrifice and did something. Gay people and the other letters are just people who have odd sex and it isn’t really all that meaningful to the public what they do. Just don’t need a day or a month for it. Be gay, don’t make us celebrate w u.

@iqrafatma1278 No way this happened. If it did the waiter should be fired and their tips kept for the massive amount of destruction they were doing.

My wife and I went out to dinner last night, and I’m still a little confused by what happened. 😅🍽️ Our bill was about $70, and we left a $20 tip. In my mind, that seemed more than fair. It wasn’t meant to be cheap or disrespectful — we paid the bill, left what we thought was a good tip, and were ready to go. But the waiter seemed unhappy and made a comment that if we weren’t willing to tip more, we shouldn’t be dining out. That honestly surprised me. A $20 tip on a $70 bill is close to 30%, so I didn’t think we had done anything wrong. I completely understand that servers work hard, and I know tips are an important part of their income. But when a customer leaves what feels like a generous tip and still gets made to feel like it isn’t enough, it makes the whole tipping conversation feel even more uncomfortable. Tipping used to feel like a thank-you for good service. Now it sometimes feels like there’s a number people are expected to hit, and anything below that can cause tension. It feels like everyone is frustrated — customers feel pressured, servers feel undervalued, and the system puts both sides in an awkward position. So I’m genuinely curious: was $20 on a $70 bill unreasonable, or have tipping expectations changed that much? Would you have been surprised too?

Distant security footage has been released of Karmelo defending himself from Austin Metcalf attacking him. As you can see in the video, Karmelo was surrounded under the tent with no way to escape. As Austin was standing over Karmelo attacking him, Karmelo neutralized the threat using self defense, and Karmelo had to run UP the stairs to escape further danger because he was boxed in from running DOWN the stairs. This is CLEARLY self defense

@OffThePress1 It’s ridiculous that a professional sports team and league make grown men wear a pride hat to celebrate gays. Do they wear a special Father’s Day hat that says “Workds Best Dad”. Why do gays get a hat? Maybe because it’s gay.

🚨TRENDING: San Francisco Giants pitcher Sam Hentges declined to wear the team’s Pride Night cap on Friday night, infuriating some members of the fanbase. “It was equal parts bigoted and embarrassing, and blame deserves to shine throughout the organization,” Giants analyst Brady Klopfer wrote, noting that several other players wore the Pride hats but wrote biblical verses next to the logo.

The Muslim who treats you at the hospital is not a terrorist. The Muslim who teaches your children is not a terrorist. The Muslim who serves you in a shop is not a terrorist. The Muslim who drives your taxi is not a terrorist. The Muslim who lives next door is not a terrorist. The overwhelming majority of Muslims are ordinary people trying to live their lives. Judge people by their actions, not by their religion.

Trump’s egregious (repeat) lie about Jan. 6 in the new NBC interview he walked out of: “They had FBI agents ushering them into the building. They had FBI: ‘Go into the building.’” There’s precisely no evidence this happened. DOJ’s inspector general found that the FBI had zero undercover agents in the Capitol crowd. Kash Patel has himself debunked a Trump-promoted conspiracy theory on this subject, saying FBI agents were merely deployed to do crowd control after the police declared a riot. And of the dozens of Jan. 6 defendants who tried a “the cops let me in” defense, just one (1) was acquitted. Even in that case, the acquitting judge said that though the defendant reasonably believed he was being allowed in, the officers in question were actually overrun by the crowd and standing back reasonably and responsibly, not explicitly encouraging anyone to enter. (And they weren’t FBI.)
Acyn@Acyn

Welker: Do you think anyone who attacks police officers on January 6th should get taxpayer money? Trump: I can tell you this, 97% of those people, you look at them, the FBI or whoever it was, you had a lot of crooked cops. They had FBI agents ushering them in. You had a bunch of dirty cops. Welker: There’s no evidence of that. Trump: Try looking at the tapes. Welker: 172 people did plead guilty to assaulting police officers. Trump: You know why they pled guilty? They were told they were going to jail for 15 years. They pled guilty because they were frightened. They went down and ushered into a building.
