Hanging at Scat Cat Club at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. They have live music Thurs-Sun, amazing cocktails, and fabulous appetizers. These are andouille nachos and Cajun peel-n-eat shrimp. Loved them both. Waiter said people complain about the shrimp being spicy. They definitely were not spicy. LOL

I’m not a fan of gigantic cake slices. We had a Dulce de Leche cake from a Cuban bakery (see pics below) for my FIL’s Bday and it was massive. Thankfully they doused the cake layers in simple syrup so it wasn’t dry, but it wasn’t really my thing. I’m way more of a fan of the smaller cake and fillings layers like you see in European pastry shops.

@JVMonte2 1) U2 War tour, Philly 1983. Bono running around the theater. 2) Depeche Mode, Black Celebration tour ( had seen them before, but this show was all vibes). Same for the Cure’s Disintegration tour. 3) Smiths Meat is Murder tour, Philly (bc they didn’t do a lot of US dates).

If you could relive one concert from your past exactly as it was, which one would it be?

Not rewriting history at all. I was there, lived through that whole thing first hand and their success wasn’t immediate. It took a bit, but once it broke (and they marketed the hell out of it) it became a thing. Again heard their early material on a cassette friends had, so they weren’t “new” to me when they broke AT ALL.

@jscholar117 Lol le pire des arguments. Vous refaites l histoire. Nervermind sort avec très peu de moyen, smell like teen spirit retenti comme une véritable bombe pour toute une génération et les ventes explosent en quelques jours.

LOVED the new Muppet overlay for Rock N Roller coaster. Can’t put up internal photos/video yet per Disney’s request, but it’s still got the rock vibe meshed with the insanity of the Muppets. We had so much fun. #grateful #waltdisneyworld #Muppetrocknrollercoaster

@Fabio9725 Not really. I grew to believe they were very over-rated & the product of an aggressive record industry marketing campaign. I thought they were fine initially—just not earth shattering. I just don’t think you can separate the marketing hype from their musical legacy.

@jscholar117 U have only a personal problem with Nirvana. For example, i dont like Ac/dc or Queen but i recognize their influence and top 10-15 for both.

@TDL_24 @historyrock_ Sort of. I lived on the East Coast and had friends who were acquiring the demos out of Seattle. Plus the so-called “alternative” sound definitely had its roots in hardcore and other post-punk bands.

@MikeBar98736393 @Fabio9725 Or that’s exactly what the record industry marketed wanted everyone to think. The oldest X’ers were in their late teens/early 20s when Nirvana broke. The “defining” sound for them was more likely to be something else.

@Fabio9725 Not a boomer thank you very much. I had friends in a grunge-like band who introduced me to them & the whole Seattle sound prior to the big break out. By the time Nirvana was tagged as the “thing,” I was tired of them. I like Alice In Chains & Soundgarden way more than Nirvana.

@FakeNewsDotNews @historyrock_ If it were between them and the Clash, I’d definitely go with the Clash. The Ramones were lots of fun live though.

@jscholar117 @historyrock_ Parliament Funkadelic are easily in the top ten most influential bands of all time. Absolutely deserve their spot and nice to see them get their flowers on a list for once

@MikeBar98736393 @Fabio9725 Also Gen X. Nirvana was definitely not in my top 5. I thought they were overrated back then and I haven’t changed my mind yet.

@TDL_24 @historyrock_ Already happening before Nirvana. Also alternative was the term for all non-album-oriented rock throughout the 80s. They just decided to “market” it as a “thing” after “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

@macd23891329 @historyrock_ Although my personal tastes run more in the Ramones/Clash direction, I’d definitely put the Who & Sabbath into consideration. Also Van Halen and GNR..

@RonDeSantis Duuude. WTF are you hating on the Ramones? This is apples & oranges. Blame Spin which like Rolling Stone has been suspect for ages. . . .
