My simple PHP JS stack without any build works incredibly well with AI because it's so simply and basic
Jean@JohnStrongHodl

The key to understand the reason why this works so well in this case is that @levelsio stack is a MONOLITH application. It has no build step that can do surprised after they are built, no scattered around code, no magic behind it: it's plain PHP, JS, HTML and CSS - bread and butter. What models like the most and understand the most because it's the foundation of internet. All the frameworks? They all still build into, you guessed it, HTML, JS and CSS. Reminds me of @dhh saying that we can as well do no-build code. It's faster, less complicated, easier to understand, and it just works! And given how AI accelerates - it really makes you think if build tools will be necessary in the coming years. After all, all the frameworks are for humans. Robots can as well just have it served in plain binary.

@brendt_gd Is there an option to configure command bus as async instead of message itself?

A new feature in Tempest alpha.4 are async commands. We already had a command bus in place, and making commands asynchronous is as easy as adding the `#[AsyncCommand]` attribute!

I still don't understand why Apple, a $3.5T company, can't make Airdrop work properly Half the time it still fails if you dare to move away from the Airdrop screen while transferring Or it just never arrives on the destination iPhone Or it spends 30 minutes re-structuring your iOS photos db until the photos that were already transferred show up

@X1nto @levelsio That is not a an issue. Currently it is not possible to turn on hotspot and have someone connected to for a longer period as it just turns itself off.

@levelsio @jseparovic1 You can't have Wi-Fi and hotspot on at the same time because they're using the same module which is meant to operate either in server or client mode.

@levelsio This was really frustrating after the switch from Android. It is literally unusable if you need to share hotspot constantly. There are various use cases for this e.g. when traveling you buy one sim and share the mobile data.

@levelsio @jseparovic1 Connect your iPhone to your mac with a cable and it enables hotspot automatically. Network is also transferred over cable and is way faster. Auto enables when your mac is not connected to a wifi network

@ShawnMcCool I'm pretty sure core team is generally aware of things that are missing in PHP. Most of features are added due to motivation of individuals to pursue them. There is some work being done in terms of autoloading. See github.com/php/php-src/pu…

Instead of adding features like dynamic property syntax to PHP, maybe consider implementing something that would offer more ways to use the language. A reasonable way to "autoload" functions perhaps?

@jseparovic1 If you check the project the PR is pointing to, you'll see that's exactly what they intend to do. 😇

@nikolaposa It's drop in replacement, you can use both until you finally delete docker desktop. Performance and resource consumption is way better with orbstack. I've been using it for few months, no issues for now.
