I don't think I could go back to doing software development without LLMs any more, but I must say it's always somewhat disconcerting when your pair programming partner decides to become a pathological liar out of nowhere

@pugson 2 and a half hours it took me to install it, realise it had installed and then spend 5 minutes doing this. 2 and a half hours!

Today was my last at @tuple 💜 After 2.5 years, over 45 projects, 171,868 layers (!) and so many great memories, it's time for me to move on. I'm so fortunate to have worked alongside such incredibly talented and kind people. I couldn't be more grateful for the amazing ride. I'm also super excited about what's next 👀 Will share more soon!

@urbanautomaton Nice! Yeah I saw that Knapsack seems to have gone a bit "use the pro thing or else"; I'll give parallel_tests a whirl!

@jshmc idk if there's anything newer and fancier, but after some (non-trivial) up-front effort making sure none of the parallel_test processes were sharing DBs or other mutable state, parallel_tests did us well for a long time.

What's the cool way of parallelising tests in Rails these days? Knapsack or parallel_tests or something else?

How would you test this: We have a data export feature in our app. To run the export, a query runs in SingleStore and they handle the writing to S3. SingleStore is run on docker locally but how could we test the writing to S3 piece. The dream is to not manually test each time.

(My blog post about how to operate a high traffic product with one full-time backend / infrastructure person is still being written btw, for now I’m too busy keeping @tuple up)
