Couldn't find much on how to deal with MNAR missingness in intensive longitudinal data, so this preprint was an attempt to repurpose some MNAR ideas from growth modeling into DSEM to handle MNAR missingness (with only a few extra lines of Mplus code) osf.io/preprints/psya…

Re-upping my NAEP Day threads for another NAEP Day. What's new? I expected signs of "recovery" (in the sense that 2020-2023 trends would be "less bad" than 2020-2022 and 2019-2022 trends). But it's worse. For those trying, be patient, give grace. For those ignoring, reprioritize.

Let's talk "misNAEPery": Common misues of #NAEP results. Here are 3 types of misNAEPery to look out for on Monday's "NAEP Day": 1) correlation-is-causation (@EduGlaze's original definition) 2) psychometric misNAEPery 3) one-true-outcome misNAEPery. 🧵 1/

Like SAT/ACT scores, many people think I and other measurement folks @NCME38 would be resisting the ongoing attack on scores and indices. But we’re all for it! We know the fallibility of single-score systems better than anyone! Just don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Body mass index (or B.M.I.), which has long been criticized as a misleading health indicator, should no longer be used in isolation, according to a new announcement by the American Merdical Association. nyti.ms/3PjlhFb
