Some repetition & cringy language ("never give up on my dreams") but a solid first draft that an applicant could edit/tailor.

Will this mean that application essays can only be accepted if written in a controlled experiment (with no internet access)? Is this a boon for item and task design or an existential threat? I just asked ChatGBT to write a 6-item multiple choice test measuring this common core standard 6.RP.A.1. Within seconds it produced the items in image 1. I then asked it to modify the assessment to include the context of recycling (image 2). I am blown away.

Agree, results are concerning and point to a need to clarify what "civic education" means & who is responsible for teaching it. (also, great example of the value of @RANDCorporation's American Educator Panels for highlighting teachers' perspectives @mkdiliberti @juliahkaufman)

Important thread by top HS government teacher and @GovBoard member, @plkelly27. Patrick, I was shocked by the 25% number too. It's as if only 25% of biology teachers thought it was important to teach natural selection. Oh, wait...😢
