Another "unsexy" startup raises capital. Having had the unfortunate personal experience of planning more than one funeral, I was intrigued by this company co-founded by @stripe alum @gerstenzang. Meadow aims to make planning a funeral as simple and less expensive as possible compared to traditional methods by allowing families to arrange funerals over the phone or online. Meadow recently raised a $9M Series A funding round led by @lachygroom and @haystackvc, following a $2M seed round in 2024, it told @crunchbasenews exclusively. Article link in the comments

@MikeIsaac It's a Walmart analogy. Just because people shop there doesn't mean there's an implicit support or approval of how it works. It's economics. And growing up in a rust belt city would also change those views. Or, situational awareness.

my position is there's a tension between actual use of these products — which is skyrocketing — and the ambivalence around the realities of bringing them to market at scale

this is an attractive argument for executives who are not talking to people across the country uniting to push back on some of the data center projects coming to their communities i'd argue actually talking to people rather than sneering would be a better long term approach

Got a very nice card from @superpower. I will always be that kid that is just excited to get mail. It talked about living to 100. It nailed my fears with one line: living to 100. I don't get the obsession with longevity (in tech, in CEOs).

This is misleading. Adobe did not settle a class action for $150 million. This is not a website for you to submit a claim for a portion of a settlement. It’s to sign you up for arbitration.
