@jstricker8 The revenue is going up but the costs are too now that you're sharing 20.5 million with them every year.

Thinking more about the Pitt swimming situation (and college sports, in general). It all comes down to the basic question: How much revenue do you generate? If the answer is "little" or "none" then you're on the wrong side of the equation.

The problem is, football pays for a lot of the rest of the athletic department. Football makes a lot of money, and a lot of that money gets used to support the other sports. Take away football revenue and the belt probably tightens even more on sports like swimming.

@AGretz Does colorado not have anyone from the draft, outside of top 5, because they traded those picks away before using them?

My guess is that if one of them succeeds it is going to resemble Colorado. A couple of lottery picks surrounded by aggressive/smart trades. If they sit back and wait for everybody to develop I'd wager they stay right where they are.
