One of the most common pieces of feedback from JupyterLite users is that it isn’t clear whether a file is server-provided or stored in the browser. Currently exploring ways to fix this with an improved UX. What do people think?

@Itayd Curious, what's your setup for remotely checking the progress remotely? Do you mostly follow progress, or also prompt remotely?

It's Saturday morning. Once of the nicest things about living in the SF Bay Area is the abundance of nature options you have here. We'll be going for a short hike around Oakland - and I won't have agents FOMO because I'll be able to remotely check on their progress at any time.

@alonsosilva Most of the magic is in anywidget, JupyterLite makes it easier to use it 🙂

I couldn't find a way to use Graphviz in JupyterLite, but today I found anywidget-lite by @jtpio which allows you to use anywidget by @trevmanz in JupyterLite 🙂

Je galère à mettre un REPL jupyterlite sur mon site react (pas de backend). Je pensais que c'est possible de build en avance avec les librairies souhaitées et ensuite un truc pas trop dégueulasse pour l'utilisateur

@jtpio Nice ! What is the current situation to create online presentations (with reveal.js ?) for JupyterLite ? Can something like github.com/jupyterlab-con… be used with JupyterLite to create client-side only dynamic presentations ?

JupyterLite 0.7 alpha releases are now available, and they already bring some nice new features 🎁 - Audio and video playback - Support for JupyterLab workspaces - Basic cell interrupt functionality

@PoissonianDist @GypsyVirus A text notebook format is still in discussions: blog.jupyter.org/jupyter-notebo… But since the format is at the core of Jupyter, it's a slow moving part. There hasn't been much activity recently but maybe it's worth reviving the thread. In the meantime, there is still Jupytext.

@GypsyVirus @jtpio I've been trying out Marimo, find positives and negatives about it. Little things like not being able to use ? to get help and ?? to list code is a big deal for usability for me. That goes away I think if you use the Marimo "it's all valid Python code" format. Like it for git...

@PoissonianDist Yeah maybe uninstalling it just to be sure, and to check if you are still seeing the issue.

@jtpio Ah you said if it's even installed. So maybe I need to uninstall it, not just run without it enabled.

@PoissonianDist Thanks for sharing this. Curious to know if are you using jupyter-collaboration for real time collaboration? Asking because there were some previous reports about data loss and data corruption when this package is installed.

@jtpio Every now & then JupyterLab stops allowing me (& auto save) to save my document. Sometimes opening a new browser tab to the same doc works, but once it happens it usually does it again soon enough. Stable enough to keep me using it, unstable enough to lose some work occasionally.

@demarchidavide Thanks! Indeed this has been discussed for a long time. Currently tracked in github.com/jupyterlab/jup… With the idea of bringing the jupyterlab-unfold to core JupyterLab when it's ready, hopefully for JupyterLab 4.5.

@jtpio The folder&files view on the left should become a real tree viewer, capable of opening more than one folder at a time
