The Pendant Star Trek (2009)'s writers intended alternate Spock to be given a hologram of Kirk Prime by Spock Prime. However, they opted to drop the idea without proposing it to Shatner, as he was vocal about having a substantial role in the film and not a cameo. (Memory Alpha)
