@miss_gauld I honestly think this stuff is done because it makes teachers (or probably leaders) feel they’re ‘doing everything’. My hunch is that if they taught the full curriculum, the sats results would be largely unchanged in most contexts

Back on the Y5/6 FB pages.Someone asked for strategies to start the children off well in readiness for SATs. Imagine being a child in this class..waiting until 2pm for something other than maths/Eng. The cultural capital developed from afternoon lessons is invaluable. I despair.
