Good framing. The hard part is that most useful agent actions aren't cleanly separable into 'safe' and 'dangerous' at the protocol level. 'Read this file' is fine until the file contains injection. 'Call this API' is fine until the parameters are adversarial. The wall has to understand context, which puts you right back to trusting the agent's judgment.

You're controlling your agent one of two ways right now: 1) Hoping your prompt works ("Don't delete files") 2) Making it impossible (Delete blocked at protocol level) One is a request. The other is a wall. Guess which one prompt injection can't bypass. civic.com/news/agent-sec…
