@SyncXmA @HelgaGrin To be fair they do acknowledge it when All Might and Hawks talk after the war, All Might questions if the rankings are necessary and Hawks says they will make them better while keeping the positive. And in More Iida and Momo go into detail as how it changed.

@HelgaGrin it will forever piss me off that they barely even recognized that the hero rankings directly led to the societal dependence and reliance on the #1 hero which was a pivotal factor in how the villains ideology and influence spread starting all the way back in the stain arc

It’s still so crazy to me that nothing happened to the hero ranking system in the end. Nothingburger of an ending.

Also the discussion is very telling in that “Smart” people who press the red button don’t see their intelligence as a responsibility to protect dumb people We have always been told that the strong should protect the weak, but what about the smart protecting the unintelligent.
cerise 🍒@yfcherries

red pushers will just call blue pushers stupid over and over without ever realizing that the real question being asked is “do stupid people deserve to die?”

Basically all democratic government elections are private voting, yet there is still plenty of coordination and polling. I don't see why the prompt would exclude you from coordinating, especially with highly trusted people like your family. Private voting just enables prisoners dilema slightly, which for *untrusted* parties you can't see the results of the voting and predict ahead of time, but you could very much still coordinate locally amongst people you trust.

@juano_iguano @239undefined @YuletideFrost >people forget this so easily It was actually never claimed in the originally pitched problem that the vote would take place immediately, that people wouldn't be allowed to communicate about it, or that there would be any other important conditions to consider.

@DrChimpus @239undefined @YuletideFrost I understood private as in no way to communicate with people in the midst of voting, which would make sense because the purpose of the hypothetical is for YOU to make a choice based on your logic and morality, adding external influence would defeat the purpose of the excercise.

@IXWRLDD @PixIl_4k Do you think him being 16yo means he had 16 lives? LMAO His body is rewinding constantly, damage just speeds the process up. Bakugo deserves credit but he did NOT solo AFO, he even stated it. AFO was not only being irrational but he also lost control of his quirks at the end.

@PixIl_4k Not true whatsoever, AFO had like 16 lives left in him by the time Bakugo swooped in. Still had full control over his quirks, and with all those quirks he failed at getting away from Bakugo’s grasp. when AFO finally tried fighting back he still outplayed. He earned that MF kill

@Morningbird_Asa Allow me to explain it to you: Because the entire conversation feels like a lampshade on the manga. Its less of a "Yeah, Chainsaw Man sounds right for you" and more like "Wow, you really were my Chainsaw Man". Replace it with any other series and it quickly becomes apparent.

How does Oda chooses someone from the Auditions for a character? Oda: I review their photos and audition tapes, and I don't actually meet them in person. But something about their core comes across, and if it matches the character, it's an immediate Yes from me. Looking at the part is important too. When the actor is a fit for the character, I know it when I see it. Not much logic to it. Hard to explain. It's not really verbal.

@NoahDarden4 @Z_OPNA Not only with Chopper and it feels really intentional, in the LA he learns the backstories before helping people. He also seems really interested in knowing people’s stories. It’s a very interesting change tbh, still don’t know what to make of it.

@Z_OPNA My biggest issue is that Luffy heard Chopper's backstory before asking him to join the crew, and that lessens the impact of Chopper's crew initiation. Luffy didn't need to hear Chopper's backstory to like him, want him on the crew, or fight for him. He just liked Chopper.

Luffy’s biggest scenes just aren’t landing for me. It feels like he’s trying too hard to copy anime expressions instead of letting the performance feel natural for live action. The season is great overall, which honestly makes it more noticeable when those moments miss.

The whole motif of holding/lending a hand is the core of Deku’s resolve throughout the series and is the answer to his conflict. Contrary to Nagant, Deku decides to still LEND HIS HAND and carry the burden with everyone else by HOLDING HANDS.

the way deku's internal conflict was 'resolved' so quickly (or goes almost completely unaddressed) is still one of the most extremely disappointing parts of this ending
