Discover our latest research in @NatureComms on the genetic factors of stroke in South Asians. To expand our limited knowledge of this population, we conducted the largest exome-wide association study (ExWAS) of stroke to date in a discovery cohort of 31K Pakistanis.

Through exome sequencing of 75k individuals from Pakistan Genomics Resource, Juan and team discovered a missense variant in NOTCH3 as a major genetic risk factor for stroke in South Asians. @SpaceXStarlink I set up a Starlink on my home roof in Puerto Rico just before Hurricane Fiona. It not only survived the winds, but also provided internet service through the storm. There was ~1 hour when service was down due to excess clouds, otherwise worked great.
