Kasunod nito, nagpaulan ng batikos si Senador Cayetano laban kay Matibag kahapon, sa ikaanim na araw ng paglilitis kay Vice President Sara Duterte. Tinawag ng senator-judge na isang uri ng “intimidation” ang pag-anunsyo ng imbestigasyon ni Matibag, lalo na’t nakatakda itong humarap sa impeachment court sa susunod na linggo. Matatandaang pinamunuan ni Cayetano ang Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) na nadadawit ngayon sa kontrobersiya dahil sa isyu ng kawalan ng bidding at liquidation.
