@MarthaF_F I still remember a set of comments on my first paper in grad school: my ideas were like « yesterday’s warmed over lunch meat. » My use of theory was like « tin cans tied to the back of a moving car. » This was 35 YEARS ago.

As a grad student, it is obvious when a professor has a fragile ego because they feel the need to punch down. Your writing sure has a fragrance: it reeks of arrogance.
Catherine D. Tan@Catherineoscopy

As a reviewer, it is obvious when something is written by a brand new grad student and very obvious when it is their first paper submission ever. Really heavy on the jargon and misuse of GRE words. The writing is floral without fragrance. (1/2)

Wonderful STAT piece by @PeterDKramer about AI's potential to get around the "Goldwater Rule" (no professional diagnosing of public figures from afar) and entertain/protect us with its algorithm-generated insights. Check out his new dystopian novel, too! statnews.com/2023/05/24/don…

@thrivew_aguide I had three beautiful blooms this year after many, many years with none. Do you know what's best to do to help them thrive?

I did not know about @suniya_luthar’s passing or that she had been ill. I am heartbroken. She was an inspiration, both personally and professionally. Warm and brilliant. Generous and hilarious. Her work will long live on, as will her spirit. @AConnectionsCo

Did you KNOW that Jimmy Carter campaigned on National Health Insurance? Ronald Reagan snickers in the background in the 1980 Presidential debates when President Carter mentions it. IF Carter won, the response to AIDS might have been a RESPONSE.

Jimmy Carter is one of the most amazingly genuine people to ever serve this country. He represents what's great about the American spirit. Even in his mid 90s he built homes for those in need. President Carter, you will always be remember for the goodness of your heart.

#ATLANTA folks: want to come to a really great in-person book event on Tuesday night that's NOT about the #Midterms? I'm going to be at the @CarterCenter interviewing the super-compelling Dr. Thomas Insel about his book Healing: Our Path from Mental Illness to #MentalHealth.
