Yesterday, alongside the Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Engr. Abraham Oshadame, and staff of the @NgComCommission, Lagos Zonal Office, I received a delegation of stakeholders from Nigeria’s creative industry — filmmakers, musicians, facilitators, investors, and others — on a courtesy visit. The engagement offered an opportunity for open and constructive conversation around the intersection of telecommunications and the creative economy, particularly on issues of online safety, service quality, data usage, intellectual property protection, and digital monetisation. Having worked closely within the creative ecosystem over the last decade, I understand both the opportunities and the challenges that come with building, protecting, and scaling creative value in a digital environment. Nigeria’s creative industry continues to play a significant role in shaping culture, driving economic value, and projecting our global relevance. As a Commission, we recognise the importance of fostering an environment where innovation is supported, content is protected, and creators are empowered to thrive within a fair and sustainable digital ecosystem. Much was said, and we agreed that much remains to be done. We left with a shared commitment to work together in a meaningful and mutually beneficial way — to grow both industries, beginning with the convening of a stakeholders’ meeting with our operators — and to protect our critical national infrastructure, promote safe and responsible digital use, and positively project our country as best as possible. It was a pleasure receiving @iambisola @mimionalaja @iamdbanj, @donjazzy, @theojinika, @iniedo01, @Lojaymusic, @bolanleolukanni, @aibeeabidoye, @Teeymix, @directorpink_, @juhmiecake, @chi_gurl76, @Iam__slimcase, @chiomaude, @yfalaye, and other stakeholders for this important conversation. I thank the delegation for the visit and for the thoughtful exchange. We look forward to continued collaboration in advancing a more secure, inclusive, and forward-looking digital landscape.

First look at Cinderella in ‘STEPS’, voiced by Amanda Seyfried. The film follows Cinderella’s evil stepsisters who are actually depicted as kind & misunderstood. Releasing later this year on Netflix.
