You can tell how bad the Giants are doing based on people’s obsession with any slightly positive small sample this season. Susac, McDonald, Jesus Rodriguez, and Peguero. We are down bad. This isn’t the same type of talent that you see with other successful “youth movments”.

@PatrickKarraker I wouldn’t have considered either of those savvy personally. Hauser had an outlier season and outpitched his peripherals and Mahle would have been savvy four years ago.

@julesposner I mean, Mahle and Houser were "savvy lower risk higher reward signings," they're just not particularly good. The irony of it all is that they would be much better off right now if they just gave Gausman and Rodon the money they wanted

This is the problem. Posey thinks (smarter) fans WANT high priced, big name guys like Edwin Diaz. People want either savvy lower risk higher reward signings or some transparency and commitment to already existing internal options. Instead they signed JT Brubaker and Ryan Borucki.
