Watching @NFLonFOX pregame, @michaelstrahan was discussing @tkelce , and said “@PatrickMahomes just accenuated his greatness.” Not a typo. Around 4:48p. I love him in many ways but am still bitter about his spoiling the perfect season for the Patriots so you’re not perfect MS. 😁

@maiab Such a thoughtful reflection. Evocative for many of us. Because parenting. They say adulting is hard. But parenting. Ya.

I was walking down the street today with my baby in a baby carrier facing me, she is absolutely screaming directly in my ear, her hands clawing frantically at my chest ripping off the scabs that are trying to heal damage she’s inflicted from previous days, her legs are completely stiff, her back is arched and her head is thrown back. a woman on the street, annoyed, derisively asks “Why don’t you just tuck her head in?” I didn’t know what to say so I just stared at her I admit it looks weird. her head is back, hanging over the top of the carrier. she’s arched like this when she’s upset every day since she was born. I used to always keep my hand on the back of her head, at least, when holding her up to my chest, because you’re supposed to support newborn heads and even though when she’s upset it didn’t feel like my hand was doing anything, it still seemed like it should be there. but now she’s over 3 months old and has lots of neck control I kinda stopped, like I said, I don’t think I was ever doing anything to help her head when she’s upset in the first place like I am probably technically capable of overpowering a baby neck muscle and forcing her head forward, but I feel kind of sick even just typing that and am unwilling to try it. “Oh I can see why you’d think that would make her stop crying but it doesn’t, unfortunately nothing else does either” doesn’t seem like the right thing to say I wanted to say “Here, want to try?” since everyone who has taken care of her is a bit traumatized by it, but it seemed hard to manage with the carrier, her comment was kinda about the carrier specifically and I didn’t want to unbuckle it and like, strap my baby onto an unfriendly stranger to make a point “Oh don’t worry she’s often like this” makes me worry she’s going to call CPS on me “Her head does get tucked in when she relaxes and falls asleep” is true but doesn’t solve the problem she wants now and doesn’t answer her question. I guess, having thought about it, “No I don’t really feel like I can just tuck her head in” is the technical answer to her literal question, but I felt like the real thing she was saying was “It seems like your baby is crying because you’re fucking up some very basic thing” and to that, I just want to say look I don’t *think* I’ve fucked up some basic thing like not holding a newborn’s head up. I really hope not. I am having a very bad time with my baby being upset, in general and especially right now. I am really trying to help her, again in general and also believe it or not right at this moment, that is why we are walking while I am holding her in the carrier. I’ve already thought of tucking her head in, evaluated it, and decided not to since it is hard and it doesn’t seem like it helps. thanks for the suggestion though. I’m sorry her crying is annoying. but I just stared at her.

Um. Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu’s says there should be federal regulation of not just banks, but of all “money transmitters.” @money2020
