Imagine being Iran's leadership right now You once were the feared boogie man of the Middle East. Instead, you get the complete shit kicked out of you for 5 weeks straight, your entire navy sunk, your supreme leader killed, and you FINALLY shoot down 1 plane This is finally your moment. You can parade the pilot on TV and use him as negotiating leverage But instead, Air Force Pararescue puts boots on the ground on your home turf, we basically build a whole patrol base including a Forward Air Refueling Point, kill hundreds of your dudes, something goes wrong with one of the C-130s at the FARP on our way out, we're not even cortisol spiked so we simply just fly in another plane and blow up the old one instead of even bothering to do any maintenance just because of how much money we have that we can simply buy a new plane Good grief. I haven't seen a beatdown this bad since Will Stancil got molested by Grok. This is honestly embarrassing for the IRGC at this point. That was LITERALLY your home territory where you know all the terrain and have home field advantage, we have never done real boots on the ground operations in Iran before, and you still lost. Everyone throw up the set right now

Imagine being the IRGC You get completely owned for five straight weeks, and then you FINALLY shoot down one plane, and then the US Military just sends in Delta Force, rescues both pilots, and kills a few hundred more of your men because they can

@KirkLubimov Straight from Hayek's road to serfdom. If you want big gov b/c you don't like the sociopaths running big corporations, just wait until you centralize the power into a single source (gov), and discover who gravitates there and ends up on top.

General Douglas MacArthur was fired by a hat salesman. General George B. McClellan was fired by a small town lawyer. And during WW-II, US generals were replaced constantly. You see, a competent leader uses generals like a basketball coach uses players. Bench them, swap them out, shift them to different positions based on how they stack up against the opposing team. They are players who fill positions as the coach deems best. But our problem is those organizational charts, and the ranks, where the inclination is to view their jobs as positions in a social hierarchy, like they were dukedoms or baronages granted by the king until promotion or retirement. So for over half a century, the US only removed generals for cause, and that cause was almost always a sex scandal or getting quoted saying the wrong thing by the press. No generals were being relieved for failure to perform, no matter how badly they were bungling things. They were just rotated in for a one year command stint, and there they stayed no matter what.

glad we're mainstreaming a conversation on california's rail disaster, as it's the gateway to understanding why america can't build anymore. but the msm is still afraid to spell it out: the purpose was never to build rail, but to buy union votes. in this, the dems succeeded.

An ambitious state-run high-speed rail project linking Los Angeles and San Francisco hasn’t stayed on track. 60 Minutes reports on the costly struggle to bring high-speed rail to the United States, Sunday. 60Minutes.com

The Europeans are not dealing with “a man.” They are dealing with the United States of America. The United States needed the most innocuous kind of cooperation from them. They denied the United States that cooperation. The implied argument is that their obligations within our alliance depend on whether they like the guy we chose as our president. “Sure, we’re allies…if we approve of who you elected.” Nope. We are not going to forget, and we’re not going to forgive. I’m indifferent to their excuses or their rationalizations. The United States of America needed their help and not very much help. They turned us down. That changes everything. And they aren’t going to like how it changes everything.
Gerard Baker@gerardtbaker

The casuistry here is remarkable. This is the simple reality: Like most Americans, most Europeans think this war is a bad idea.Their governments are being asked to take a huge risk by a man who has proved unreliable, volatile and intemperate over and over. Who would do that?

New York: 133K NGOs handle $450 billion per year. California: 225K NGOs handle $610 billion per year. Over $1 trillion per year is moved within the NY and CA NGO ecosystem. The fraud is staggering. America is not in $39 trillion in debt. America is in $39 trillion in fraud.

We didn't ask anyone to join. We just asked for permission to transit across what was presumed to be friendly territory and that was rejected by a country that we literally saved from annihilation in living memory.

America isn’t the victim of its own wars. If Trump didn’t take time to plan, and didn't even bother to build a coalition, nobody is obliged to follow. You being venomous over it is a very feminine trait. Take responsibility, and point the finger at those who led you to war.

It gives the game away when government projects brag about how many jobs they created. The point is (supposed to be) to build a train, not create jobs. In fact, creating fewer jobs would be better since it would mean the project is more efficient.
