Among those missing are Bilal’s two brothers, Babul and Umar, his two cousins Rashid and Saeed, and his mother. The army has now issued orders to kill the entire family. According to the sources, orders have been issued for the killing of the suicide attacker’s whole family. Two months before the incident, Bilal Shahwani’s family had held a press conference and publicly announced their disavowal of him. Despite this, the Pakistani Army picked up the entire family and has now issued orders to kill them without producing them in any court of law. Human rights activists describe this as a clear example of collective punishment, in which innocent family members have been detained without any legal process, and the latest reports are even more alarming. This is not a new practice in Balochistan. Whenever a Baloch freedom fighter carries out an attack, the Pakistani Army targets his family in order to terrorize the local population.
