@Antoxa_13371 i’d agree, but half-life source was never meant to be more than a port in the first place. not that i’m defending valve’s lack of care for the game, but i think it’s a little unrealistic to have expected them to push out a remake of hl1 while they were making hl2 at the same time

@juperder If Valve locked tf in and made the actual Half-Life 1 remake on Source instead of pissing off the fans with broken Source port and them ending up doing it themselves maybe. Xen chapters would've shipped with the released game instead of years of waiting too. But it is what it is.

@juperder It’s just flashy everything, it doesn’t have the style/atmosphere you feel in official HL games.

@flaekp agreed. as much as i love the game CC ended up creating with definitive edition, there is an undeniable charm to these old screenshots that show a much rougher game that is visually consistent with hl2

@juperder i've never played the 2012 version of black mesa but i kinda would love to play the 2008 version from the 2008 trailer

@fsayan4 actually an update mod for OAR uncut recently released that brings it to the same visual quality as the rest of the game, which i very much recommend! steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi…

@juperder On a rail uncut 2016 is truly good! Thats why CC hired this guy and added his surface tension uncut mod to the main game! Is a shame that they never added this mod too..... or the mod of the training course... or the mod of uplink.... Without those Black Mesa is not complete.
