One thing I don’t understand in a neutral perspective, why aren’t they going to for a creative midfielder? That’s what they’ve been lacking the past few years, a natural RW is also one of the problems, but atleast they need a different type of profile like a player who can run into those spaces when everyone is on the left side

@NealGardner_ He has to start Olmo , no question. You need that one-touch passing behind the defensive line to beat Argentina because they’ll do the same to Spain. Whoever does it better , they win.

Looking ahead to the finals from a Spanish perspective, I think it makes sense to start both Fabian and Pedri alongside Rodri. You don’t want to give Argentina a big numerical superiority in that midfield. Very unlikely DLF will change things, but Argentina are very unique with how their midfield takes shape, and going in with just two genuine midfielders opens up the space for them to get into the game more than they probably should.

@TacticoModerno Olmo has been better than Bellingham as a CAM , Bellingham has been more of a Second Striker while attacking , still had a phenomenal WC. The rest looks great.

@newreyreal2 This will be a battle of one touch passing , the two very best national teams at it. I am looking at Olmo and Messi , the faster the passing is , the more vertical one when needed will take this game. Spain has the hand because of team chemistry because of FCB but you never know.

One thing I noticed from the Argentina games is that they are poor when teams go one on one with them, but once they play a low block, they soak up the pressure and then they start scoring goals This however will not work against Spain, becuase like vs France, when Spain were 1-0 up late, they did not sit back, they continued pressuring and played risky football and scored the second This is one of the reason why I believe Spain are going to win big, I predict a 3-1 or 4-1 for Spain
