I actually really like the tape on Simpson & completely understand WHY DO is saying that, you see more NFL level play/throws so to speak!
BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, just bc you didn’t have to show something or couldn’t show something in college bc of players around you, DOESNT MEAN YOU CANT DO IT!!

@johnzabroski The Jets definitely need one WR, a guard and another TE. They will get that in the draft. As of now they have a lot more than people credit them for to start for a QB

@jusstnc Drafting a QB with no weapons is a classic Jets move. We need a WR2, WR, and WR4. And a vertical threat TE.

If you have a chance to get a QB prospect like Ty that wont have to start year one and can sit behind geno I think you take that chance

@jusstnc He’ll get drafted, possibly higher than 33. Someone will like him, I just don’t know if he’ll change a franchise. I see him being taken by a team like the Rams, if he’s still there for them. To kick the tires while Stafford is still there.

@jusstnc He’s 6’1” 210 lbs. How many QBs that size or under have had success in the NFL? Real success? Brees and Wilson are the only 2 with SB wins in recent years. OL and DL are 6’2 and taller, and they’re not getting shorter. If he were a Caleb clone then ok, but he isn’t.

@paulvertucci No QB is perfect. He was neck and neck with Mendoza for more than half the season. He’s still the 2nd best in the class and has some good intangibles.
Came back and buried OU after they punked him earlier in the year. Showed a lot with that performance

I understand your point. We do need starters across the team. And I’m sure he will play next year it’s inevitable that the Jets play more than 1 QB in the draft.
A long term QB needs to be found. If they feel he can be that in 2027 and beyond, take the chance. We keep hoping for next year’s class and I hope it’s as good as advertised.

@jusstnc Why waste a high draft pick on a QB that’s gonna sit on the bench and probably never see the field as a consistent starter when you still can get playmakers on the field and continue building for who we draft next year…. Simpson wouldn’t even be a top 8 QB in next years draft

@jusstnc I get that thought. But idk man I just feel like all 4 of the picks in the top 44 need to be starters or at least important contributors on this team, especially with having three 1s next season in a supposed great QB draft class

@jusstnc Understandable, I just don't like Simpson enough to to spend that high of a pick on him. If I wanted a QB in this draft; I'd wait and pick Beck, Robertson, or Allar in a later round.

What if he plays, does well and now you have QB figured out (on a 2nd round contract) before 2027? You can load the rest of the roster !

@jusstnc Hell no. If he’s not gonna play year 1 why even bother. Just use 33 on a player who can help now and wait until 2027 to get a QB

@AlexMorizio74 4 years at bama, had an awesome start to the year before injuries impacted play and inconsistent support.
I think he has great leadership and tools to be a QB, but the 15 starts will make you wanna have him sit for a few weeks and see where the team is from there

They’re likely taking a QB in next years draft anyway so then what? Ty just gets traded?
