Every time I fly out of another airport (MIA this time) I am reminded of how much I love DCA. Just so easy to get to, never have to wait, and basically in the neighborhood. Won the airport lottery more or less. (FWIW I have flown into FLL and it’s way way better than MIA)

@mattadler81 Based on my last visits there, there's a lot of shitty pizza in NYC, and a DC Jumbo Slice is just as good as a NYC $1 slice (they both suck). Andy's is up there with good NYC joints, as is CSNY in Rockville.

@MLS_Buzz A lot of the food at DC United's Audi Field was curated by the great chef and humanitarian Jose Andres. I'd put the Arepas and Pupusas up against any stadium food anywhere, and they're about $12 (and season ticket holders get discounts).

Stop buying stadium food in the US. It’s unnecessary price gauging, anti-fan, and it happens in all American sports. Stop playing along with it Sneak in some snacks and eat at a local restaurant or something before you get in the stadium, but stop rewarding them for this

@JeffKassouf Washington Spirit drew 11k last week, after finishing in the cellar last year, when their average attendance was 6k. DC United drew an average of 16k in 2022. How is 11k a disappointment?

The crowd in North Carolina was bad. The crowd in Houston needs to be better. The expectations in D.C. are higher. Yes, it's week one. Gotham, Chicago, Louisville, Orlando are all home this weekend. Week 2 will look much different. As it stands, there's a big gap in the #NWSL.

#NWSL announces total of 90,009 fans an opening-weekend record. That was the plan, and it's great. San Diego + LA showed up, especially. We should also demand more. Number should have been 100K+. Four of the six games make up ~80,000 of total. There are underperforming markets.
