@suchenzang I've yet to have a positive experience with AI customer support. You'd think OpenAI would/should be the best at it, but there's is seriously terrible and unusable. They seem able to handle questions that a FAQ would already cover but not able to handle things beyond that.

so... has anyone seen an ai customer support bot resolve an issue firsthand, without escalating to a human or forcing you to give up after a hall-of-mirrors-infinite-loop?

@tunguz When I used to work in an office I couldn't do that, but now from home I've found it to be the best way! I wonder how people in quiet offices could do it.. Never tried whispering to codex yet but it might work..

LinkedIn is seriously the worst. It’s all written by gpt or Claude and so are the comments and replies. It’s like a public flasher doing his business while facing a mirror.

@jxnlco Basically yes! If I was being super greedy I would love it to be live where I could speak as I explain and have codex speak back to ask clarifying questions along the way. That would be game changing!

@jxnlco One amazing thing would be if I could basically screen share while explaining. If I could literally show codex a workflow as I talk about it and teach it what it is I do so that it could make a skill based on that. That would be the future!!

The chrome plugin tends to shit the bed and give up early or just hang forever. I run multiple chrome windows/profiles at once so I think it gets confused. Also would like the gmail plugin to be able to handle multiple accounts.
If a conversation is too long it can just sit at "thinking" forever.

In Codex I'm telling you, just push this button and talk, ramble, explain. You save your fingers from having to type a bunch and you give it so much context to consider and work with. The transcriptions are perfect and it lets you just explain things like you would to a human.

We are excited to ship advanced annotation mode, more powerful browser use capabilities & Chrome extension UX improvements today!
1) Iterate faster and more precisely with Codex in advanced annotation mode by directly adjusting elements on the page.
2) Browser use can now download & extract image assets and structured data from pages much more quickly with a read-only JS sandbox.
3) Chrome extension no longer creates tab groups when taking over existing tabs or for handoff. Instead, it uses more subtle notification icons.
You should also see significant reliability improvements to Windows, plugin availability and performance.

This is super useful! Push both Cmd/⌘ at the same time and codex gets a screenshot and meta data of what you are looking at. Did it on a folder I was deep into and had it clean up the contents. Very nice!

Had multiple email threads with images from a client and it was getting tough to keep track of.
Used the gmail plugin in codex and got it to grab all the info/images and built a simple summary html page.
Way easier this way!
