Concern is growing in Northeast Philadelphia as authorities search for a missing 12-year-old girl, Evelin Gonzalez, who has not been seen since Thursday afternoon.
According to police, Evelin left her home on the 3500 block of Grant Avenue on Feb. 26, 2026. A doorbell camera recorded her walking away from the house at about 4:17 p.m. Later that evening, around 5:05 p.m., she was officially reported missing.
When she was last seen, Evelin was wearing a tan hoodie with “Essentials” written on it, blue school pants, and black sneakers. She stands about 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs around 70 pounds.
Authorities are asking residents to help keep watch and share any information that could lead to finding the young girl. Police say even the smallest detail could help bring Evelin back to the people who are desperately waiting for her.

A 7 year old disabled boy named Teon had his electric wheelchair stolen and police closed the case after two hours.
Ableism is everywhere.
Public pressure from The Source got the case reopened.
Share far & wide and help Teon get a new chair!

UPDATE: The Met police has now reopened the investigation into the stolen wheelchair of disabled 7yo boy Teon. This comes after I uncovered that CCTV had not been formally requested before the case was closed within two hours of being opened. open.substack.com/pub/melissasig…
