Ting Dev Update - 20 Mar 2026 📅 Week 33: WhatsApp templates, scheduling fixes, and memory updates... *Shipped / Fixed* - Week Ahead updates now coming to WhatsApp from Sunday. - Pre-meeting messages also rolling out on WhatsApp. - Added support for updating blocked time directly, including title, description, and time. - Improved timezone handling in threads, so Ting is better at spotting the right timezone and explaining it in a more natural way. - Improved the ignore flow again, so Ting is less likely to reply when it should stay out of the thread. - Reduced over-confirmation in long threads, especially in messy “book it anyway” situations. - Added a line to calendar events showing which email address created the meeting if the user has multiple calendar connections and creates a meeting with non-primary. - Fixed the signed-out upgrade flow so people can upgrade when they hit the 10 booked meeting limit. - Added more message context into memory handling, so requests like “make it 2 hours” are understood as a meeting change, not a personal preference. - Fixed an in-person location bug. - Default buffer time is now 0, which simplifies scheduling behaviour. *In Progress* - A first version of memory extraction during onboarding shipped behind a feature flag so Ting gets to know you faster. Improving onboarding memory quality before turning the feature flag fully on. - Added a first version of Calendly link availability checking for non-Ting users. - More work on WhatsApp onboarding and template rollout. Now, back to work... 🏗️

I didn't know no-shows waste 15-40% of every sales team's calendar until I met a stranger at @WebSummit. I was standing by our booth when someone wandered over and started asking about what we're building at @justccting. I assumed he was just curious. Then he mentioned his company loses a lot of time to no-shows across his sales team. I asked how many. "We get 10,000 inbound demos a month." He walked off eventually, and someone came over to me and said: "Do you know who that was?". Turns out he was head of sales at a EU unicorn. We stayed in touch. And that conversation became a feature! We call it 'No Show Recovery'. Ting watches your calendar. If it notices the other person didn't show up, it asks if you want help rescheduling - automatically, inside the same thread. When you're running 10k sales calls a month and 15-40% don't show, recovering even 1-5% is hundreds of meetings saved and potential $$$s. Other lesson, talk to people as if you want and expect nothing in return. I hate it when I feel people are working me over. Try it now anyway at meet-ting.com 🍿

Ting Dev Update - 13 Mar 2026 📅 Week 32: better scheduling decisions, cleaner emails, and more WhatsApp work... *Shipped / Fixed* - New serendipity feature to reconnect you with “people you haven’t met in a while”, while staying within the 90-day data retention limit. - Week Ahead and pre-call briefs now available in WhatsApp as well as email. - Landing pages were updated, including pricing and business, better email and WhatsApp demo visibility. - Improved awkward email wording so Ting is better at using “you” instead of sounding confused about who it’s addressing. - Added a line in calendar events showing which email address created the meeting. - Fixed edge case for meetings starting too close to the current time by improving how Ting filters and ranks near-term slots. - Reduced unnecessary over-confirming in long threads and allow guests to confirm for others. - Removed the optional participant filter in calendar event creation to simplify the flow. - Fixed meeting attendance emails so Ting now respects the user’s settings before sending them. - Fixed Microsoft calendar rescheduling/declining issues by pulling the organiser info properly before deciding what to do. - Added stronger email matching so if a guest later becomes a Ting user, we can recognise them correctly. - Fixed time slot ranking so Ting is less likely to send a “no availability” email when ranking fails. It now handles those errors more clearly instead of failing silently. - Removed an old thread-matching fallback that was causing Ting to group messages into the wrong thread. *In Progress* - ChatGPT MCP app review in submission. - More WhatsApp rollout work, including template approvals and onboarding flow. - Continued work on cold-start memories for onboarding flow so Ting can know you from day zero. A week full of 'boringly reliable', next week back to work on the big features 👽

Ting Dev Update - 6 Mar 2026 📅 Week 31: clearer actions, better memory handling, and a big landing page refresh coming up! *Shipped / Fixed* - MCP connection compatibility fixes for more tools, including Mistral / Le Chat support. - Ting can now update meeting titles and descriptions, making it easier to adjust calendar details without doing it manually. - Fixed cases where Ting chose the wrong next step in a conversation: for example asking follow-up questions when it should have simply offered times. - Fixed issues when users asked for a different meeting duration, so Ting now picks the right action more consistently. - Improved attendee lookups in direct messages, so Ting can now find email addresses from memory and message history when needed. - Improved cancellation reliability, including better handling of all-day events and fewer failures when Ting already has the event ID it needs. - Fixed Ting saying it couldn’t delete memories when it should be able to. - Added more protection against wrong memory changes, with extra examples and logging to help catch mistakes earlier. - Fixed meeting links being double-encoded, which was breaking some URLs. - Fixed timezone-related slot suggestions so users no longer get odd late-night alternatives just because of conversion issues. - Improved language detection so English messages are less likely to be mistaken for German, and added a safeguard for low-confidence cases. - Fixed title generation edge case so if AI creates a poor title, the fallback title now works properly. - Ran onboarding analysis, including drop-off by step and device, to understand where users are leaving. *In Progress* - Big landing page refresh shipping, including new pages, updated structure, new pricing page and Ting for Business. - Increasing notifications such as Week Ahead and Pre Call Briefing via WhatsApp. - Onboarding getting a small UX improvement with a bigger Skip button to make it easier to move through setup. - Adding a failsafe so if a user is effectively booking time with themselves, Ting uses block time instead of trying to create a meeting invite. - Adding the Simplora logo to connections 👀 Keep an eye out for a community email next week with all the new features to test out... 👽

Ting Dev Update - 27 Feb 2026 📅 Week 30: Smoother reschedules, better messages, and Voice now live... *Shipped / Fixed* - Ting Voice live...! Say what you need and Ting will help via WhatsApp. - Voice messages are now tracked as audio vs. text, and Ting can share the exact transcription if a user asks what they said. - Improved “book it anyway” handling again - fewer cases where Ting gets stuck because it can’t confidently pick a time. - Ting now understands “anything works” when a user is choosing from suggested times, and proceeds without extra back-and-forth. - Fixed tricky rescheduling cases for recurring meetings. - Fixed cases where Ting was addressing the wrong person in an email. - Made meeting limits more reliable by tracking the 24-hour usage window properly (and tightened some event filtering). - Meeting titles are now translated properly (not stuck in English when the user is in another language). - Fixed schedule summaries showing past dates. - Improved cancellation cleanup: when a meeting is cancelled, Ting now also removes related follow-up events so it doesn’t chase people for a meeting that no longer exists. - Made Microsoft connections more reliable by saving the new refresh token (Microsoft rotates tokens; older ones expire). - Added clearer re-auth messaging when an Outlook connection can’t be reached. - Improved reliability of email generation when the model goes off the rails. - Removed the “Blocked:” prefix from calendar blocks (users didn’t like it). - Ongoing calendar consistency work (making sure declined events are filtered everywhere, not just in one flow). - Website updates: timezone converter page design fixed, privacy page updated. *In Progress* - New feature: let users ask Ting to update the title/description of a meeting. - Week Ahead soon available to be sent on WhatsApp. - Including some improvements to the WhatsApp Week Ahead version (formatting and what content should/shouldn’t carry over from email). - Fixing a timezone memory bug where Ting can mistakenly update your timezone when you’re talking about someone else’s. - Website landing page iterations underway to show Ting in all its glory. Thanks for following along as always 👽

@dbul @ZTO__SA @justccting Great idea, but still as third party this model is considered undesirable due to the security policies surrounding email business content.

Ting Dev Update - 20 Feb 2026 📅 Week 29: A week welcoming a BUNCH of new users, introducing new features and fixing bugs. *Shipped / Fixed* - Memory cold start improvements: Ting can now update existing memories (not just create new ones), reducing duplication. - Also added clearer UX when cold start runs but no memories are created (e.g. inbox has no relevant emails). - Added calendar event webhooks + notifications and started detecting manual cancels (so Ting can react when meetings change outside of Ting). - Fixed a recurring “book it anyway” failure. - Fixed Microsoft Teams link generation bug. - Improved cancellation reliability with multiple edge-case fixes. - Expanded evaluation/testing coverage: a) added a meeting summary evaluation script + initial dataset b) added more real user failure cases into the direct decision dataset (incl. missing tool calls). - Fixed timezone conversion issues across multiple tools. *In Progress* - Frontend polish, working on new landing pages and onboarding. - Fixing “Ask Ting for schedule” edge cases: users seeing past dates/events when no date range is specified. - Rescheduling non-organiser events: deeper refactor to make updates/declines sync correctly across Google/Outlook. - Testing a conflict checker for created/updated events: if a change collides with existing calendar events, Ting can notify the user (email/WhatsApp) and offer help rescheduling. - More reliable rescheduling when the user is not the organiser. - Giving Ting the freedom to choose a slot when yo udon't want to do it. Now back to work, we've got a lot new users to serve 👽

Google-backed Meet-Ting just launched Ting (@justccting), an AI agent that runs your calendar inside email. CC it like an assistant—it reads threads, understands context, proposes times, and follows up. It's not a booking link; it's software that models your judgment.

Ting Dev Update - 13 Feb 2026 📅 Week 28: better defaults, fewer edge-case failures, and faster web pages. *Shipped / Fixed* - Shipped a stronger ignore check so Ting reliably stops replying when users ask it to. - MCP has been added to the onboarding flow if you're into that kind of thing. - Added a 24-hour buffer so reschedules don’t offer slots too close to the original meeting time (with safeguards so we still return enough options). - Increased max output tokens in the direct decision prompt so responses don’t get cropped on longer requests. - Added WhatsApp non-deliverability failsafes to reduce silent failures. - Improved the Ting agent's evaluation set with real user failures, including cases where it didn’t call required tools. - Fixed multiple cancellation edge cases (including second-attempt failures) and hardened the flow. - Began running ads in France and Germany. Salut + guten tag! - Shipped an Outlook personal vs. business account onboarding modal to help users understand Teams' limitations. - Fixed some authentication errors when users were signing in with invalid email addresses. - Spent hours talking to you, our customers: our favourite thing to do. *In Progress* - Work continued on the cold-start preferences including user feedback. - Calendar webhooks: we want to receive event notifications from Google + Microsoft so Ting can keep an eye on your calendar and be even more helpful. - Working on a small timezone tool if you just want to quickly check on a light web app as you plan global meetings. - Some SEO speed work: fonts + additional caching tweaks to make website feel like butter. - Fixing bug with Microsoft Teams link not working in invites. It's Valentine's Day this weekend so sending this update with love... 💌
