@_y0ral @sanity_spire Maddy took issue with a specific tweet that Avid took down. I don’t believe any creators took issue with when they came out. There are some valid criticisms to be made, but I feel like taking issue with when he came out is a bit of a stretch.

why would it be bad that avid came out as nonbinary around when ppl were celebrating women/non men??? what is a nonbinary person if not a non man ???? what are you the gender police or something holy shit

@pitysymmetry I think their initial response was a bit hasty for sure, but ultimately they will be dealing with the consequences of it. You live and hopefully you learn ^^

I've said it before but I'll say it again—you should remove agab language from your vocabulary. It is not a more progressive alternative to "(fe)male (bodied)", it is not an adjective, noun, nor an identity, it is a coercive process that happens to everybody at birth

@Avid_Yt Ty for taking the time to respond to this separately. It really started to feel like people were just using this as an excuse to target a trans creator. The valid criticisms started to be lost in transphobic rhetoric, and it made me really uncomfy as a trans person.

I have recently seen some harmful rhetoric surrounding discussions I am centred in. I want to express my concerns surrounding it. This is not to take away from my previous apology. I want to separate the conversations so as not to mud the waters of genuine critique of my actions

You can criticise Avid's response without calling them a man or being exorsexist & transmisogynistic. I agree, some of his recent tweets have been incendiary. But if you call them a "grown man", you are exorsexist. & if you call misogyny an "afab issue" you are transmisogynistic

I'm not saying Avid doesn't sound hypocritical or didn't react impulsively with his initial response (he definitely does) but can we *not* go around lying about the timeline of events? "He used GenAI a month ago" is incorrect, it was two years ago. (1/?)

@DaveThePaperCut @sylveralbatross As a trans person, this is a sentiment I hear a lot, and I feel an appreciation towards it because I believe it comes from a place of caring for others. I think it is hard to see people do things you think are going to harm them.

@sylveralbatross I don’t support trans people for one reason: because they should accept themselves the way God made them, and not try to change their gender just because they want to.
