I feel like with more AI Coding agent, there will be more high-quality OpenSource replacements to Proprietary technology. We will soon have a well maintained replacements that we can actually commit to. Which is really nice.

Ok so last year when @cursor_ai rolled out its free Pro plan for students I was one of the fortunate few who were able to snag it before the rollback. All good. Used it. Until… my college id got revoked as an alumni. So now even though I can see in the desktop app that I am subscribed to the Pro Plan. I am not able to log in to the web dashboard, nor cancel the subscription, nor check any details. F.

If you use @opencode , - Setup a reasoning agent with a closed source without any access to bash and edit. - Use Deepseek as an executor. - Let Claude/GPT guide the reasoning while observing its output (the read is 1/4 of the write token) - Watch it outperforms CC and Codex with a fraction of the price.

That's 163,896 seconds. Now let's divide that by 60, I'll round the decimal down for courtesy - that is 2,731 minutes. Now let's turn those minutes in to hours - so what, 2,731/60 again! Rounding to the nearest 1dp point that gives us 45.5 hours. Now I do work hard, so in my flow state I work for 14 hours straight. It's gunna take me 3.25 days in my state to even understand what you have produced. You do not understand, nor read your code.
