With the Saudi PIF officially cutting LIV Golf’s funding at the end of the season, they have sent out a press release stating:
“LIV Golf is transitioning from a foundational launch phase to a diversified, multi-partner investment model, with a formal process underway to attract long-term financial partners.”
They have also announced there will be a new independent board, led by Eugene Davis, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PIRINATE Consulting Group LLC and Jon Zinman, the founder and managing member of JZ Advisors LLC.
The league is also officially reporting their strongest financial performance yet in 2026, with 100% year over year revenue growth. They say the new board will be focused on “institutionalizing the league, formalizing its ownership structure, and evaluating the range of strategic opportunities”.

Ya LIV GOLF aint going anywhere.. There having by far the best season all numbers are way up!! Crowds are wonderful and every has definitely gained traction this far.. Im myself am gonna look forward to every event this year and 2027!

The $20m purse at this week's PGA Tour at Hilton Head is, in its own way, as unsustainable at this week's $30m LIV event in Mexico. Whatever happens, pro male golf needs a huge correction. The golfers are cashing cheques that the interest does not begin to justify. It's absurd.

I’ve spoken directly to multiple people within LIV Golf who all say they have had no issue with being paid. Future venues are proceeding as normal, with no indication that anything will change. And players are getting ready to tee it up in today’s pro am, fully expecting LIV Golf Mexico City to go ahead as planned.

Ryan French from Monday Q Info reports that LIV Golf is about to shut down. Speaking on X Spaces last night, Ryan said: “I think everybody should probably stay near their phones… “I have some pretty good sources and I’ve heard that some other people have sources that LIV is shutting down.” Later on in the episode, he said: “I’ve got everything from, and these are people that I trust, that you guys know. Players didn’t get paid today, power went out because the bill wasn’t paid, employees didn’t get paid. Stuff like that. “There is definitely a lot going on… Things are not good.” Ryan is very well connected and respected in the professional golf world. @sanguine61981 Tabuena is taking the wildcard spot. I think they are just leaning in to the pathways more tbh. It’s the biggest criticism they face and this is a good first step. Tabuena was so close to qualifying last year via The International Series, he deserves the spot now it’s opened up

Anthony Kim has signed a season long deal to replace Patrick Reed on Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC on the LIV Golf League, starting in Adelaide this week.
AK is playing the best golf of his comeback at the moment, re-qualifying for the league via the Promotions Event. This will be the first time he has been on a team and with his motivation levels as high as ever, hopefully he can continue the progression he’s shown over the last few months.
I look forward to seeing how he gets on with DJ’s team as his comeback story continues 👊

When Anthony Kim was relegated from the LIV Golf League, he could have walked away from the game forever. Instead, he went to work and utilised The International Series, LIV Golf’s pathway system, to earn his way back. AK spoke about his journey with Flushing It Golf: “It would have been easy for me to hang it up, and obviously, I was extremely disappointed. But, you only get better by learning from your mistakes. “In the past, when things weren’t going my way, I would pack it in. And I didn't want to make the same mistakes, because what am I teaching my daughter? Am I teaching her, "Hey, when things get tough, and it's not your day, you should just hang it up?” No. Still keep trying. And as long as my body holds up, I'm not going to stop trying. “So, I fully intended to get back on LIV Golf. My belief in myself has never gone away. I think it's very evident to anybody that I believe in myself. No matter what anybody says, I’m fully capable of winning golf tournaments. I just need to keep working and if I do that, a lot of doors will open.” When AK phoned for this interview, he’d just finished a lengthy practice session after a long day of media commitments, once again showing his new dedication. His short response when asked if he has caught the golf bug again, was classic AK: “I’ve got the bug not to suck.” So, what is he doing to avoid sucking? “I’m always working on my short game. I spend most of my time on the chipping green. I then finish up hitting balls on the driving range, hitting full shots. But my practice revolves mostly around putting and chipping. And then when I'm on the driving range, I just hammer my setup. “With every swing I make, setup is what I'm concentrating on because I might not be as smart as some of the other guys that know launch and club angle, and all those trackman things. But I know that if I make two good turns that I'm going to be in good shape. “When I'm swinging it well right now with the stuff Matt Killen and I have worked on, I think I'm swinging as good as I've ever swung it. Now, that doesn't mean great scores, but it at least gives me the confidence that when I am on, I'm going to be able to take it low. And I'm hoping that happens early this season.” AK has made massive improvements over the last few months, securing his first top 5 since his comeback at the PIF Saudi International and finishing solo 3rd at the LIV Golf Promotions Event. So, after getting relegated from the LIV Golf League in 2025, is the goal for his return to finish in the Lock Zone for this season and avoid the same fate? “If I just target finishing in the lock zone I should not be playing. “I know there's some great players out there, some guys, obviously, with major calibre pedigree. But, I would be lying to say that I don't expect to be contending to win tournaments, and that's my goal. I'm not trying to finish second. I want to win everything I play in. That's just who I am. And, I always refer to my daughter, but I want my daughter to see that. “When you get a chance to step on somebody's neck, you got to go ahead and do that. When I signed up to start playing LIV, the ultimate goal was to have my wife and my daughter run out onto that green. And I knew it was a small chance that would happen, but with the progression I've made, I don't see why that can't happen.” Interview continues in quoted post. @AnthonyKim_Golf
