1/ Left-wingers love to throw around the word fascist, lobbing it indiscriminately at #MAGA, #Republicans, and #conservatives, without even knowing what it is. In 1995, Umberto Eco wrote an essay about fascism He didn't know how Democrats would become fascists today... a 🧵

This is a blatant lie. Someone who made only $50,000 paid a grand total of $81 in federal subsidies, simple math proves it. If you make $50,000 per year your federal tax bracket is 12%. Standard deduction is $26,000 so more than half your income isn’t taxed at all. 12% of the remaining $24,000 is only $2,880. You literally don’t get taxed enough for “$4,000 to go to corporate subsidies.” Of that 12%, 6.2% goes to Social Security, and 1.5% goes to Medicare and Medicaid. That leaves 4.3% that goes elsewhere. Of that remaining 4.3%, 1.1% goes to the military, leaving 3.2% to fund the rest of government. Research, payroll of 2mil employees, pensions, court systems, overhead and maintenance, land leasing, website maintenance and construction, etc. 3.2% of $24,000 is $768. The federal budget was $6.4 billion last year. Corporate subsidies totaled $180 billion. That’s 2.8% of the total federal budget. That means for someone who made only $50,000 they paid a grand total of $81 in federal subsidies. [($24,000*.12)*.028]=$81 You Marxists are low lives and need to have your right to vote permanently revoked.

Gerrymandering isn’t standing up for democracy. Not that you would understand this, but doing something evil to fight evil is still an act of evil. The only response to this mayhem is a constitutional amendment that bans gerrymandering countrywide.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Buying and selling is NOT capitalism. That’s trade. Capitalism is an employee generating $1,000 of value an hour but being paid $16.

Let’s not also forget that on top of the 10 Civil Rights bills that Republicans voted for, of the 5 Voting Rights Acts Republicans passed 4 of them with a majority vote, and they passed the Trump-created CARES Act which was nearly unanimous in both chambers. The party switch is a lie.

The “Republican and Democratic Parties switched in the 1960s” myth is, at best, lazy historical revisionism. Fact: The Republican Party was founded to oppose slavery. It passed the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. Republicans consistently pushed civil rights bills in the 1950s–60s. In 1964, the Civil Rights Act passed with higher Republican support: • House: 80% of Republicans vs. 61% of Democrats • Senate: 82% of Republicans vs. 69% of Democrats The filibuster against it? Led by Southern Democrats. Of the 21 Democratic Senators who voted against the CRA, only 1 (Strom Thurmond, years later) switched to Republican. The other 20 stayed Democrats or were replaced by Democrats. Southern white voters shifted Republican gradually over decades — driven more by economic growth, opposition to big government, crime, and cultural issues than a sudden “racist flip.” The Solid South didn’t turn red overnight in 1964–68; it took until the 1980s–90s. Parties didn’t “switch platforms.” Voter coalitions realigned as the national Democrats embraced expansive federal power and identity politics, while Republicans emphasized individual liberty and limited government — consistent with their broader principles. The same Democrats who ran Jim Crow didn’t magically become Republicans. Most segregationists stayed put or faded. History isn’t a cartoon switcheroo to absolve one side, dumbass. Facts>slogans. Both parties have flaws across eras, but this myth distorts reality and pollutes the political waters.

@greendragonhq The perceived impact to people’s lives don’t change people’s inherent rights. You do not have the right to steal from people just because you think it might make some people’s lives better. Theft is theft, even if you vote for it.

Taxing a billionaire 50% more makes no material difference in their lives. Taxing a billionaire 50% more makes every difference in the world for working-class people. That’s why we should tax the rich!

No. The left wants high taxes. You lie and say you want to tax the rich. Take the original income tax proposal; Leftist pitch; it would only be a 1% tax on the richest 1% of earners. Today its base 10% with the top tax rate at 34%. Social Security. Leftist pitch; a 1% contributory payroll tax 1% by the employee matched by the employer. Then then reality of how expensive the welfare Ponzi scheme was and it’s now 6.2% employee with 6.2% matched by the employer. Now Medicare. Leftist pitch; a .35% tax on employees matched by employers. Today, it’s 1.45% with employer matching. You leftists are not only liars, but predators who prey on the ignorance of people who don’t know our history so you can perpetuate the propaganda that you hate high taxes. Fuck you. You love them.

"Left-wingers want high taxes" Err, no... Left-wingers want to tax the rich. They want to redistribute that wealth to the masses, and invest in public services, to improve the lives of regular folk. Right-wingers want to tax the poor. They want to give your money to the rich.
