@George_Kurtz If CrowdStrike were sued for this incident, what would the value of the damages be?

Today was not a security or cyber incident. Our customers remain fully protected. We understand the gravity of the situation and are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and disruption. We are working with all impacted customers to ensure that systems are back up and they can deliver the services their customers are counting on. As noted earlier, the issue has been identified and a fix has been deployed. There was an issue with a Falcon content update for Windows Hosts. For the latest information that we will continuously update, please refer to the CrowdStrike website (crowdstrike.com/blog/statement…), my posts on LinkedIn, and my posts on X.  I will continue to provide updates to our community and the industry as they become available.

Corporate special interests lost & the American people won. Billionaire corporations will finally pay a minimum in federal taxes, revenue to cut energy bills and create jobs. Medicare will finally negotiate lower prescription drug costs. Inflation Reduction Act is a big deal.

The good news: We're all going to be billionaires. The bad news: A gallon of milk costs 2.6 trillion dollars.

@mashadrokova I have been thinking what city to move to for ages now, at the same time I am tempted to get rid of 98% of my stuff and just live a nomadic lifestyle

Choosing one city to live in has been one of the hardest decision of adulthood (perhaps even harder then choosing a romantic partner).

The tricky thing with crypto, by combining users and investors as one, the product value prop follows the market cycle. And as a general rule, you don’t want your product to get worse for users if the market goes down, otherwise you’re just in finance.

@EclecticRadical @SheriffGokson You’re ability to freely express your opinion as you are now comes a a result of venture dollars being put to work. Venture capital puts money in the hands of the inventive to solve problems, which is incentivised by profit.

"financial privacy is only good for money laundering" as a pretext for universal surveillance is exactly the same tactic as "encryption is only good for terrorism", and normalizing the former advances the goals of the latter while currently being more politically palatable.

As a DAO it is our fiduciary duty to maximize value for ALL network participants, that means users (customers) and investors (shareholders) get treated with the same level of care and respect.
vitalik.eth@VitalikButerin

@icy_apes @optimismPBC If "fiduciary duty" means "you have a duty to make profit maximization your only goal", then fiduciary duty is an evil concept and we have a moral duty to rebel against it, regardless of legality. Fortunately I don't think the law says anything like "you have to profit-maximize"

China is going to build >150 new nuclear reactors in the next 15 years, which is more than the rest of the world has built in the past 35 years. Huge missed opportunity by the US and our allies to not prioritize nuclear energy in our decarbonization strategy.
