I have ideas for five books. I'm putting the systems in place to write one per year over the next five years. Here's the order I plan to write them, with a one word tagline/subject for each one: Audience — How the right people paying attention will get you everything you want in life. Flywheels — Building flywheels to scale your creator business. Culture — Everything I've learned about company culture in remote teams from scaling ConvertKit. Wealth — How to learn the skills to build income and wealth. This is the long-form version of my Ladders of Wealth Creation essay. Billion — How attention is the most valuable element on earth. Channeled in the right way you can become a billion dollar creator. This week I finished the premise and outline for book #1. Over the next 3 months I'm spending a ton of time writing it. My goal by the end these five books is that a potential creator will have the full inspiration and roadmap to secure their financial future for generations. ConvertKit's mission is "we exist to help creators earn a living." These books will pair well with the platform to make that a reality for millions of people. LFG

I left my full-time job over 6 months ago to go all in as a solopreneur. Since then, I’ve made good money and worked on dozens of different creative projects. But I’ve hit a bit of a rut (and I’m confident I’m not the only one). Once you get 6 months into any new “thing”, things settle in. If you’re working on all the right things, that “settling in” tends to feel really good and you know you made the right choice. But I’ve worked on some of the wrong things. I’ve allowed myself over the last 6 months to throw a lot of spaghetti at the wall — and it’s led to me doing a lot of what I’d call “reactionary” work. Work that doesn’t drive me. Work that I do because there’s an expectation of delivery, but for no other reason. Work that takes up a spot on my calendar, but not my heart. Not all of my current work fits this bill, I still have a lot of fulfilling things going on and relationships I really cherish. But it’s pretty clear I have two choices: 1. Keep on the same path and eventually burn out 2. Shake it up, be uncomfortable as I shift priorities, but ultimately build a better biz I’m obviously opting for option 2, but it’s been so much harder to execute on than I thought. But here’s what that shift looks like for me: → Taking on fewer service-based opps → Heavy priority on writing my newsletter → Building relationships on social → Recording videos, short and long → Working with sponsors for my emails → Building a paid and free digital product each month I know what I’ve gotta do, now the only thing left is sticking to the plan. If anyone’s looking for an accountability partner, I need the support to and would love to connect!
