@FriedgeHNIC I thought this young Sabres core would have to go through a decade of playoff failure to develop that “killer instinct” and learn to “play the right way”.

@SoulDialectic @nytimes 8.5. And I am not talking about the polls. I am talking about the fact that he gained 24 seats and had 41% of the votes, more than enough to win an election where the NDP and BQ are relevant.

The Carney Liberals did not win a majority government through a general election or today's by-elections. Instead, it was won through backroom deals with politicians who betrayed the people who voted for them. While the Prime Minister spent the year on this cynical power grab, he has doubled the deficit, and given Canada the worst grocery prices and housing costs in the G7. Liberals expect Canadians to give up, get complacent and go away, so Carney can have total power without any accountability. That will not happen. Our country and its people are worth fighting for. We will continue to fight for people to afford homes, food and fuel. We will continue to fight for safety in our streets. We will continue to fight for our resource workers and soldiers. I will continue to lead that fight every day and in every way in Parliament, across the country and in the next election, when Canadians will reclaim the country we know and love.

@PierrePoilievre Never before in the history of any Westminster politics has a majority government been won through floor crossing. Alternatively, at no time has so many people crossed without a party being dissolved. This is not what our veterans fought and died for.

As expected, the Liberal Party Canada now officially has a majority government after winning University-Rosedale and Scarborough-Southwest. This is the first majority government in almost 7 years

@RoyceKoop This is why we don’t elect people who have never sat in the House of Commons before. Absolutely no respect for democracy.

Regardless of what you think, you’re voting for a person in Canada, not a party. There’s a reason why the name is the one in bolder font and not the party!

@RickAnderson Almost 10 million Canadians are food insecure. 6.5 million do not have access to a doctor. They don’t need fair, decent and diverse. They need a government that acts in the best interest of the people, instead of speeches and announcements.

I am truly fatigued by this negative line of dreck about Canada. Yes, we have challenges, more at the moment than usual. But this is a tremendous country, and yes we have a Canadian Dream, the belief that people can come together to build better lives, and in doing so build a better country: fair, decent, and diverse.

@rupasubramanya Kinda ironic that while the Liberals poach MP’s from all parties to form a majority for the first time in history, the only problem identified in this whole thing is the leader of the opposition. Baffling.

We can only win if the Liberals implode which likely won't happen for another few years is quite the vote of confidence in Poilevre who at this point reminds me of the guy who hangs outside Parliament everyday in the hopes the convoy returns: the trucker who never left.
