Imagine having a context window of 1 million tokens on Claude Opus 4.7, yet he regresses to around 200,000 tokens, becomes unintelligent at around 500,000 tokens, and becomes utterly stupid at 1 million tokens. So, yes, the 1 million token limit was a bad idea if you haven’t expanded its long-term memory. I feel like my $200 subscription is practically useless for long, complex projects. I have to tediously break everything down into tiny pieces because Claude has become senile.
