When I was writing my book, I struggled to find a word for "non-good/strong" #institutions, because what doesn't conform to idealized Western forms are dismissed as defects and do not have names I now get that the right word is "indigenous" That some people have reacted to "indigenous knowledge" with demeaning insults - calling it "uncivilized," "fraud," "deprived & superstitious" - convinces me even more that we need to bring indigenous knowledge back into #development.
