(sorry linkedin copypasta. ask and cta at the end)
great working with @dasilvakareem, @adiabaticgarden, and @PRTiffany on robotic trash sorting at the @fdotinc Physical AI hackathon last weekend ❤️
if there’s any nit i would takeaway from last weekend it would be to get the robot calibrated faster that way codex/claude could pick things up and move faster overall. so not really a new takeaway—when i was integration architect at agi, everytime i 1-on-1’d with the cto and he asked if there was anything in my way i’d tell him “humans” and that we need to “get humans out of the loop”—but this is even moreso the problem landscape i’m seeing in robotics. less about doing “work” inside a clean, predictable software environment and much more like the “work” is all about bringing predictability to an unstructured physical world
Introducing step . parts, an open source directory of 12,000+ STEP parts for your next CAD project
Many CAD tools like Autodesk have huge closed libraries of standard mechanical and electrical parts
The goal is to build an equivalent catalog for the open source CAD community
@BlkEglRE@fdotinc@adiabaticgarden@PRTiffany these are my teammates from a robot hackathon last weekend. it was mainly just a time to explore a new robot; we didn’t do anything exceptional
what if i told you... computer use can be faster on local models
