@Patriotdadev77 So it could be this obviously fictional nonsense that got this man killed but more likely it was the ICE agents that stood around him and shot him at close range as he lay defenceless on the ground.
Alex Pretti's final assignment with Ice Watch, a known domestic terror organization, may have been uncovered by investigators.
At this point, there is no question what got him killed. His own decisions.
ICE fired “less-than-lethal” rounds at an Alex Pretti memorial and severely injured an American Indian woman’s hand.
Let that sink in.
They used impact munitions on people mourning the man they killed.
This is state violence.
@Hntaigana@eevblog Total 42 just stopped the aggregate total. Ironically Obama wanted the turn backs counted to reflect tough on immigration policy. Regardless, his admin conducted more enforced removals that trump
Question for Americans from a dumb Aussie about the Minnesota thing.
Obama used ICE to deport approx 3M illegals, and got the nickname "Deporter in Chief". And he wasn't even voted in on doing that. There were some protests, but nothing even remotely violet or crazy.
Why is now everyone so violet and crazy? Is there any other explanation apart from Orange Man Bad?
@CAgovernor In one year’s time, that money will be gone, nobody will really know where it went, there will be no meaningful change in the metrics & nobody will talk about it.
NEW: California is funding a new $47 million effort across California to prevent youth substance use — with a focus on mentorship, leadership, and reaching struggling young men and boys.
My experience voting in NYC:
1. No ID required
2. Zohran on the ballot twice in the top row
3. Eric Adams, who dropped out to avoid splitting the vote, still on the ballot
4. Cuomo in the bottom right corner, 2nd row
BREAKING: The Atlanta Fed has revised their US Q1 2025 real GDP growth estimate down from -2.4% to -2.7%.
Adjusting for gold imports and exports, they now see US GDP contracting by -1.5%.
If this is the actual reported number, then we are 1 quarter off of a technical recession.
@goodstufftbh@KobeissiLetter Hedge funds caught offsides in basis trade with over a trillion leveraged now need to find liquidity. You should buy the dip immediately bc fed is about to intervene. But yeah….politics
You can't make this up:
The 10-year note yield now up +60 basis points in 48 hours.
At this rate, we will have 8% mortgages and a recession by the end of the month.
Talk about a turn of events.
I was asked in an internal PAM DM:
"Does the sharp rise in 10Yr yield compel the Fed to cut raise now?"
Well, cutting rates will not address the main, immediate, prime mover of the Yields higher, which is the Tariff issue. And with inflation expectations soaring with the expected short term impact of the tariffs, that may actually even push the Yields higher.
In fact, the short-term impact of the tariffs, added to already existing elevated inflation expectations, is probably what is pushing the 10Yr yield into the current paroxysm higher (see chart below).
Also I suspect Powell is enjoying seeing Trump and Bessent squirm with the rising rates. No help from the Fed forthoming soon -- until we see a large negative impact on GDP growth and employment. But that is medium-term. No help from the Fed this week, or next.
I dont want to be the A$$ out there.
All these accounts preaching how much money they made today.
Just be mindful, the entire market went nuts. This is when the prey on you.
I made METRIC FCK TON today. Didnt post anything about it.
Why? Because we banked. But its easy to flog the monster days.
How abou the chop, the down pressure days.
I mean. I am all for everyone making money. That is what I am all about. That is all about what the swing lounge is all about.
But dont fall trap to the folks flogging a one day gap up as their hero Bullshet.
Trump is fine with the stock market going down/being very volatile early in his term. He can blame Biden for what he inherited and can take credit for the subsequent recovery.
Stocks going down would also coincide with home prices going down which would allow young people to finally buy homes.
Right now we’re in a place where:
-Older generation has their homes paid off and plenty of assets.
-Younger generation can’t buy a home and has no assets.
The older generation can weather a storm because they have mortgages that are close to being paid off with low rates and plenty of assets.
If we get any type of market correction, young people would finally be able to buy homes and accumulate assets at cheaper prices that will put them in a better position going forward.
It’s clear that this time around Trump is going for “short term pain for long term gain” and would likely be fine with a down/flat/moderate market in 2025 if it means 2026-2028 are bullish. It’s telling that he hasn’t posted about the stock market even once since he’s been elected when during his first term he was posting about it almost daily.
Everything he’s doing from tariffs to DOGE to the Ukraine war shows he’s fine rocking the boat. I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
I don’t think we enter a mass bear market like 2022 but I do think expectations should be tempered after an almost nonstop vertical 2 year bull market.
MAJOR REDDIT SCOOP: Investigation reveals an extraordinary degree of astroturfed anti-capitalism, radical Marxist, Islamist propaganda on some of the biggest subreddits, including r/Documentaries
A Discord group has hijacked hundreds of subreddits, many of them with millions of followers, to censor its ideological enemies and distribute propaganda directly sourced from US-designated terror organizations such as Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Houthis, and many more.
The subreddits the group now has control of are composed of a group of central subreddits — including r/Palestine, r/IsraelCrimes, and r/ApartheidIsrael — which are topically relevant and built around overlapping ideologies that include anti-capitalism, radical Marxism, Islamism, and anti-Western and pro-Iranian-regime sentiment.
But it’s with a cluster of million-member-strong subreddits infiltrated and now controlled by the network that have nothing to do with the Mideast — or even politics generally — that the r/Palestine network is particularly effective, and illustrating an extraordinary degree of unambiguous astroturfing meant to convince unsuspecting users that there’s a widespread anti-Israel, anti-Western, Marxist movement online.
These include, but aren’t limited to: r/Documentaries (20 million members), r/therewasanattempt (7.2 million), r/PublicFreakout (4.7 million), r/Fauxmoi (4.3 million), and r/iamatotalpieceofshit (2.1 million).
An astonishing investigation by @ashleyrindsberg in Pirate Wires today reveals the full scope of the operation. Link is threaded. 👇
