Who is the one asset you are trying to buy in your dynasty leagues? Mine seems to be BTJ.

@dougpayments @McFranchisee @McDonalds The geo fence will only trigger on pick up order at the counter and at curbside . App ordering and choosing drive thru as the pick up point will not inject the order in advance. The sequencing could be nightmarish. Try curbside!

@McFranchisee @McDonalds Appreciate the insight - I might be too close for it to trigger right, not even a 30 second ride lol It just feels like when I get there, that’s when the order actually starts getting made, since I end up parked 10-20 mins pretty consistently. Maybe I can try calling ahead?

Billy Donovan said he likes Rob Dillingham and will probably get him more minutes but didn’t tonight because Bulls have Josh Giddey/Tre Jones back, they have too many guards and they tried to use more familiarity to win. Dillingham logged 8:29.

@McFranchisee @McDonalds I had a friend ask me last week why McD doesn’t have them. So that started a short rant and said will rarely ever see them around, and then I happened to run into one 72 hours later

Evil Data 😈 + Tropic Berry Sprite 🥤 The #1 Sprite Freestyle flavor was Sprite + Wild Berry. Coke created a new flavor based on “evil” consumer Freestyle data. Coke gave @McDonalds the exclusive, and we made it a national flavor, replacing the orange Hi-C valve in ’17. It didn’t perform well, was discontinued, and we brought back Orange Hi-C. I think it was way ahead of its time. People are offended by businesses tracking buying behavior? Lol, it’s been done since the beginning of time. While we don’t have those machines, we track the amount of syrup we sell for each soda flavor. It helps us know what customers want. If businesses don’t track what you buy, how are they supposed to know what to sell? I think Coke using Freestyle data is genius and definitely puts their R&D department on a whole different level in the industry. Did you ever try Tropic Berry Sprite?

🚨 YOUR SODA MACHINE ISN’T JUST POURING DRINKS That touchscreen and camera reportedly track what you select, flavor combinations, time of day - even how you interact with the screen. All streamed to servers for analysis. All for a cup of soda. When did this become normal?

Our chocolate ice cream is top-tier. In fact, it tastes like a Frosty. I’m not usually a chocolate ice cream person, but I am with ours. Not many @McDonalds locations carry it. This is the “new” Carpigiani FDM closed-loop system with a 90-day brush cycle and 99% uptime. You don’t see many because they cost over $30,000 plus $700 quarterly maintenance kits/cleanings, about $10k more expensive than a single-flavor machine. Would you buy more McDonald’s ice cream if we offered two flavors?

A few years ago, @McDonald's developed a conveyor belt under the prep table to minimize steps in the kitchen during assembly. You go from taking about 7 steps per sandwich (walking down the line to add ingredients) and placing it in the landing zone to only 2–3 steps. It's actually really cool and very efficient. Employees love it. It has been standard in every new build for about 5 years. Three years ago, I requested a quote to install a new conveyor prep line/landing zone setup in an older restaurant, it was about $100,000 for everything involved, not including installation. Hard to justify that one.

Here’s a video of a @McDonalds pneumatic ketchup/mustard dispenser that never made it to restaurants (post below). For decades we had two separate dispensers: one for ketchup and one for mustard. We’re looking to make our kitchens faster, one second at a time. They’re pretty efficient, but you had to pick up two different dispensers. Now there’s a single dual-purpose version. It dispenses both at once or either one, depending on how you move the black handle (left for mustard, center for both, right for ketchup). Yes, it’s probably over-engineered. Yes, it works. Yes, it saves time.
McFranchisee@McFranchisee

Some $mcd innovations that are intriguing: 1) new ketchup / mustard dispenser 2) new “product” dispenser that not only can dispense french fries but can also dispense McNuggets 😮 3) California new packing: plastic containers (like in Europe). Remember, what happens in Cali trickles to other places 4) Food transporter used when kitchen is on a different level, often used overseas Follow me on the McJourney #McDWW24

Sometimes I just feel like my restaurant is a piggy bank for other companies. Had a service call, not only did they charge a trip fee (there and back), but now we're also adding mileage. Just for them to show up was almost $500. Here’s the kicker: service agents carry minimal parts. Most of the time they don’t have the part, so you wait three days, they come back, and they charge another trip fee. If you want to own your own restaurant, you’d better get very good at plumbing, electrical work, mastering a voltmeter, and repairing your own equipment. In a thin-margined world, you can’t drop $3,000 every time something breaks.

@McFranchisee @Brad_Gray This was a train wreck. The redundancy with 2 orange flavors never made sense to me and thought it was the clear choice to remove Fanta when testing energizer thru ABS

To go along with the topic of fountain drinks, we only have spots for 8 flavors, but what if we used the same orange base for either carbonated (Orange Fanta) or non-carbonated (Orange Hi-C)? You choose. This would free up a valve for another flavor. I understand some branding would need to change but 2 orange valves taking up 25% of our drink space is a bit over-indexed. Why I bring this up: I had a carbonated backflow blow, meaning carbonated water went everywhere water goes: coffee, OJ, lemonade, and Orange Hi-C…. it tasted exactly like Orange Fanta 💡 No one liked the carbonated coffee, but the carbonated OJ was pretty good 😆

10 years ago, I published my first Cubs prospect list. It was leading into 2016 and I ranked hitters and pitchers separately. Here’s what it looked like: Green = Reached MLB with Cubs Blue = Reached MLB with another team Gray = Never made MLB Bold/Underline = Career bWAR > 5
