I am devastated to hear about the horrific events at the Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver earlier this evening. I offer my deepest condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured, to the Filipino Canadian community, and to everyone in Vancouver. We are all mourning with you. We are monitoring the situation closely, and thankful to our first responders for their swift action.

Flashback to 11 years ago today when Wayne Easter delivered the perfect description of Pierre Poilievre in the House of Commons. Some things never change!

John Aldag resigned as an MP to run for the BC NDP, lost, and now wants back in as a Liberal. This guy will keep switching teams if it means a seat at the table. Voters in Langley Township–Fraser Heights deserve better than a political opportunist looking for a comeback tour.

To be clear, of the projects Mr. Poilievre cited yesterday:   - 1 project (LNG Canada 2) is in fact fully approved and awaiting the company’s final investment decision. - 3 projects are being assessed under the Harper/Poilievre Government's flawed CEAA 2012 process – which is why they are taking so long. - 2 projects being assessed under our IAA process are delayed due to extension requests from the companies themselves. - 5 projects began assessment in the last two years and are within the current timeline goals set under the IAA, with 3 of them expecting final decisions in the next 12 months. Canadians should not accept these mistruths and incomplete information as a façade for shirking our Constitutional obligations and ignoring our environment. We deserve better from our public discourse. Canadians know it’s possible to build major projects the right way - why doesn’t Mr. Poilievre?

@Conservative_BC I see @HarmanBhanguBC made the trek from Delta to UBC today—too bad he couldn’t make it to Langley’s all-candidate meetings or any community events. In my 20 years working for the people of Langley, I haven’t seen him once. Langley deserves someone who shows up when it counts.

John Rustad would cancel the Langley SkyTrain extension and hospital projects. He says "we don't have the capacity to build them all." Not only are his new infrastructure promises fairy dust but he would delay or cancel projects underway. We can't afford that risk.
